Summary About the Position: This position is located in the DHN Pacific Rim position, San Diego, California. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. This is a remote position, the duty location is consider as the employee's official duty location for locality pay and competitive area. Responsibilities Reports directly to the Network Director and serves as the clinical subject matter expert in the complex field of health informatics, electronic health record and health care data analytics. Assist with long-term planning within the Defense Health Network. Work independently in accordance with methods and practices of the Defense Health Agency health informatics community, as well as local and Command to established policies and operating procedures. Work across multiple clinical venues providing consistent support and messaging with the goal of integrating new clinical, business and information technology solutions within the Defense Health Network. BASIC REQUIREMENT: Degree: Bachelor's or graduate (or higher level) degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience in troubleshooting, evaluating, configuring, utilizing and training with health information systems and/or technologies and associated clinical software; technical ability to perform data input, retrieval, and analysis; leadership experience in informatics responsibilities such as improving the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of health care by integrating clinical and information processes in a health care environment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Communications Data Systems and Management Project Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
