Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Federal Account Director in United States

A Typical Day Might Look Like the Following:

The Federal Account Director, reports to directly to the Senior Director, Payer Access. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining key relationships with leading targeted national, regional, local HCPs and channel decision-makers within the Veterans Administration and Department of Defense Accounts. This shall include VA National PBM NAC headquarters, All VISNs, DoD PEC headquarters, and targeted VA and DoD hospitals. This position will maintain account development and management to execute on key objectives for the entire Regeneron-owned product portfolio. The position will be responsible for implementing short- and long-term business initiatives to ensure appropriate coverage and access at the VA National PBM, VISN and targeted local VAHC and DoD account levels.

• Assess product positioning within each targeted Federal channel customer. When appropriate, take action to move payer decisions in a direction that continues to open access to appropriate patient care.

• Assess product positioning and develop strategic plans for Federal channel customers to include VA PBM, VISN, VAHC, DoD, and other account targets as defined by Payer Access Leadership.

• In concert with Senior Director, develop short- and long-term business planning that addresses overall brand goals across Regeneron portfolio. Work with Senior Director to assess process and track progress.

• Assess competitive market landscape and opportunities for improved or expanded market penetration and adoption of Regeneron products within VA and DoD Healthcare Systems.

• Manage expenses within assigned budgetary allocations to ensure operational margin goals are achieved.

• Focus on a vertical integration plan within all targeted accounts, which includes VA/DoD Medical/Pharmacy and Purchasing Directors (clinical and administrative), VISN Pharmacy Executive (VPE), and other medical management team members. In addition, efforts should include working with regional VISN offices in executing pull-through strategies from corporate partners.

• Engage with targeted VAHCs to pull-through messaging and strategies from the National VA PBM and VISN level.

• Work closely with Managed Markets stakeholders to assist in segment support, which includes pricing/contract management & development, Managed Markets strategic imperatives implementation, brand initiative planning and strategy pull-through with Sales, RBM, and trade team collaboration for segment support, while ensuring optimal pull through effectiveness for all patient support and access programs.

• Work harmoniously with All Commercial teams to assure adherence to all compliance guidelines.

• Effective Government contract negotiation that allows provider and patient access to the Regeneron product portfolio.

• Effectively implement and manage all programs as directed by Trade, Reimbursement and Managed Markets leadership, including providing input to Managed Markets Marketing to assist in the development of segment marketing programs and tools.

• Provide market segment updates to Commercial leadership and functional area partners. Map important VA/DoD provider trends, current Federal landscape, competitive intelligence, and Regeneron product positioning.

• Cross-functional collaboration with Market Access (Leadership/NADs/RAMs), Sales (RDs/MSs), Market Access Strategy and other internal corporate partners to ensure appropriate market coverage and support.• Proven project management skills (leading without authority), with the ability to handle multiple tasks with multiple partners.

• Federal Government VA/DoD Subject matter expert to support all functional area partners. Collaborate closely with other stakeholders within Regeneron Commercial team to ensure consistent exchange of important VA/DoD information and field messaging.

• Implement strategies and tactics to support appropriate product placement and reimbursement (coverage, payment and patient access) across National, Regional and local VA/DoD accounts.

• Create clear messages for dissemination to Sales partners, RBMs and NAMs on important VA/DoD trends, reimbursement changes, and billing requirements that will affect product utilization.

To be considered for this role you must have a Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree from an accredited college or university. At least five (5) years relevant, current director-level experience calling on VA/DOD. Experience in oncology and/or ophthalmology highly desirable. Demonstrated knowledge of VA/DoD decision-making for policy, coverage, and patient access to existing and new products. Demonstrated knowledge of VA/DoD National, VISNs and local formularies, and reimbursement process with focus on self-injectable specialty products. Demonstrated effectiveness operating in a field-based position at multiple levels. Required to have a varied skill set from a national/regional/local payer level expertise. Ability to accommodate up to 75% travel (65% Field, 10% corporate office locations). This is a field-based, national role requiring extensive willingness to travel.

Salary Range (annually)

$197,400.00 - $242,400.00
