The Hartford is seeking an Executive Recruiter supporting our Technology, Data and Analytics organization. In this role, you will be responsible for our executive level (Director level and up) external recruitment and internal talent mobility strategy.

The Executive Recruiter will be responsible for client relationship management coupled with managing the entire recruiting lifecycle, including the development and implementation of effective recruitment plans and strategies for external as well as internal searches. With executives as their clients, the Executive Recruiter is expected to bring robust market knowledge to help build an optimal organizational structure and aid in talent decisions with the ultimate goal of building exceptional leadership talent and driving succession capabilities across the organization. Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and ongoing recruiting activities to identify and attract highly competitive candidates for key roles at The Hartford. This includes developing job descriptions, search strategies and target lists, as well as placing sourcing, networking and recruiting emails and calls.

  • Research industry competitive intelligence and analyze external market trends.

  • Advise business clients on strategic sourcing and recruiting processes, as well as market intelligence data and feedback.

  • Develop and execute an executive recruiting strategy that aims to enhance the diversity of our workforce.

  • Develop and maintain understanding of recruitment best practices, including passive and direct sourcing techniques. Seek new methods and innovative solutions to identify and attract prospective talent.

  • Develop long-term relationships with potential candidates and update The Hartford’s internal executive search management system to document and track data.

  • Represent and differentiate The Hartford to external candidates by effectively describing the businesses within The Hartford and the industry trends.

  • Understand the internal talent landscape to proactively identify potential internal candidates.

  • Regularly attend appropriate business line and HR staff meetings, as well as participate in special recruiting projects across the organization.

  • Utilize and manage external resources when needed to supplement work.

  • Partner effectively with HR Business and Compensation partners to develop complex executive offers.

    Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years of candidate development and recruiting experience in a retained executive search and/or corporate executive recruiting function; proven track record of developing, assessing and managing executive level technology talent is required (AVP level and higher); full recruiting lifecycle experience preferred.

  • Build and grow successful relationships with executive level business clients and HR partners while effectively and appropriately managing expectations and educating on The Hartford’s value proposition within the competitive landscape.

  • A proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex, deadline-oriented environment. Able to work both independently and collaboratively, strong teamwork skills.

  • Demonstrated drive and ownership of work product and results, sense of urgency, and continuous improvement.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with thorough attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication, influence management and negotiation skills.

  • Strong business acumen and intellectual curiosity.

  • Resilient, flexible, and persistent; able to approach challenges creatively.

  • MS Office proficiency required; experience with Workday, Tableau, and/or Encore (or similar search management system) a plus.

Candidates who live near one of our office locations (Hartford CT, Charlotte NC, New York City, Aurora, IL, San Antonio, TX) will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).   Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into the office occasionally as business needs arise.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$108,800 - $163,200
