Entry-Level Electrical Engineer
Job Summary
POWER Engineers is seeking an entry-level Electrical Engineer to work in the Power Delivery – Small Utilities Department in our Ft. Worth, TX office.
Roles and Responsibilities
The Electrical Engineer candidate will perform a variety of engineering tasks as assigned by our electric utility clients, including substation, transmission, and distribution. They are expected to maintain POWER's high-quality standards, promote internal teamwork, and meet the needs of our clients.
Details of responsibilities but not limited to:
Perform the detailed design of low to extra high voltage substations including, but not limited to:
Physical design
P&C design
System relaying and protection, including substation relaying, transmission line relaying, and distribution coordination studies.
Perform the detailed design of distribution lines up to 25kV, including overhead and underground design.
Perform the detailed design of transmission lines up to 345kV.
Support QA/QC for deliverables to clients.
Shall have the ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively within a team setting.
Shall learn, understand, and adhere to department standards and processes while working individually or within a team to complete complex and technically challenging designs for our clients.
Required Education/Experience
BSEE (BS Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology) degree, from an ABET-accredited university preferably with a power option.
Must have strong knowledge and understanding of electrical engineering to build on.
Must have a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel.
Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.
Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Desired Education/Experience
Internship or co-op experience with electric utilities or industrial facilities.
Engineer In Training certificate (EIT) or passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
