NuScale Power Electrical Design Engineer 3 in United States

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for design engineering of electrical systems. Additionally, oversees and coordinates work flows and schedules with designated subcontractors. Possesses excellent knowledge of functional disciplines and their practical application and has detailed knowledge of applicable industry codes and regulations. Responsible for making technical decisions in regards to electrical system design and application to ensure compliance with NRC regulatory criteria.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates the d esign of electrical systems within project plans and goals.

  • Reviews and establishes project requirements, develops project schedules and coordinates their implementation.

  • Stays abreast of industry product development and utilizes best practices to provide company with highest quality products.

  • Creation and/or review of Electrical System design work products such as, 1-line diagrams, BOM’s, Equipment Requirement Specs, System Requirement Specs, System Design Descriptions, Engineering Studies, Engineering Reports, Inspection, Test, Analysis & Acceptance Criteria (ITAAC) and associated Calculations.

  • Perform s i nterdisciplinary r eview of work products of interfacing disciplines.

  • Conducts Independent Design Review of sub-contractor work products.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Quality Assurance: Commits to the understanding and implementation of quality assurance regulations, standards and guidelines of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1.

    MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:

  • Education: A minimum of a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering (power option preferred), from a four year accredited college or university is required. ABET accredited engineering program preferred. A professional engineer license registration or advanced degree is preferred.

  • Experience: A minimum of 5+ years of full-time, progressively responsible experience within commercial nuclear power, in a design and/or systems engineering organization, is required. In-depth understanding of engineering concepts, principles, theories is required. Strong technical writing skills, good communication, computer, presentation and interpersonal skills, and exceptional organization skills and ability to manage complex projects with multiple work phases are required. Preferred skills and/or experience include:

  • Cross-functional Operations experience such as Shift Technical Engineer or Plant Certification.

  • Demonstrated project management skills.

  • Experience using ETAP

  • Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.

    The target pay range for this position is $104,218 - $125,781 annually. The full pay range is $93,437 - $146,145.
