Job Description

The Editor will independently manage the Request for Proposal (RFP) process for Infinite Campus products/services and work with leadership, sales, and Campus teams to achieve the best results. The Editor is responsible for leading, creating, and finalizing proposals that reflect the voice of Campus and best present our strengths, solutions, and value propositions. As a Content Creator, work collaboratively to plan, develop, and create effective marketing materials. The Content Creator thinks strategically and is a skilled storyteller and a strong, creative writer.

Job Responsibilities

Editor, RFP Response (30%)

  • Manage the company’s Request for Proposal (RFP) process and be primary point of contact for all proposal-related questionsMaintain and update a database of answers, standard content, references, templates and supporting documentsReceive and monitor alerts/notifications regarding RFP opportunities; communicate with sales and others on each opportunity’s potential for a response

  • Write and edit executive summaries and cover letters with a focus on structure, accuracy, organizational consistency, and appropriateness of content

  • Craft and submit questions seeking clarification of proposal requestsEnforce proposal timelines; finalize and timely send official documents as requiredStay informed of product changes by attending relevant (major) product reviews and stakeholder meetings

Content Creator (70%)

  • Develop strategic marketing content that supports campaigns statewide/nationwide

  • Effectively communicate key competitive messages through collaboration with internal subject matter experts, and customers, to create compelling content

  • Work with Campus departments (sales, client relationship management, training, support, product management, etc.) on an ad-hoc basis for departmental content needs

  • Leverage excellent communication skills to lead interviews and discussions with internal subject matter experts, and customers, to gain insights that fuel content

  • Write compelling content for case studies, campaigns, emails, video scripts, website, and more

  • Proof and edit marketing materials

  • Work with internal design staff to create effective marketing materials

Desired Background

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (marketing or communications)

  • At least 5 years of experience writing/managing RFPs and/or writing marketing content, preferably for software/technology

  • Demonstrated written and verbal communications skills, including interviewing, writing, proofing, and editing

Performance Expectations

  • Perform job responsibilities quickly as directed and with a high degree of quality and professionalism

  • Establish and maintain positive and productive work relationships with all staff, customers, and business partners

  • Position requires a very self-motivated and self-directed individual who can think creatively in individual situations as well as in team brainstorming opportunities

  • Capable of comprehending technical information about Campus and its products, and then clearly communicating that informationPlay an influential role throughout the organization and quickly establish and maintain positive and productive work relationships with staff and business partners

  • Act as a respectful and effective liaison between marketing and many other departments

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, with ability to continually re-prioritize, to ensure completion within strict RFP and project deadlines

  • Work an average of eight hours per day onsite and be willing to work longer hours during busy times

Position must adhere to the practices and procedures outlined in the master security guidelines.
