Overall Purpose

Responsible for managing a global sales force for ADS Environmental Services (ES Division) to achieve top line growth and increase sales volume and market share. Develop sales plans and strategies to penetrate and dominate the Wastewater Collection System market and adjacent markets; specifically in the areas of flow monitoring systems, sewer system inspection services, maintenance and fully integrated web-based software services for both water distribution and collection systems. Provide overall sales management and leadership to the ES Sales Managers in North America and Australia and oversee ADS’s Distribution network in Europe.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day sales activities of the ES Division. Provide general sales and marketing support, including appropriate sales tools, sales messages, presentation and proposal support and sales training.

  • Develop territory plans and conduct quarterly reviews to ensure all Sales Managers meet their assigned targets.

  • Manage the reporting of sales activities, schedules, and contacts. Provide regular feedback on all sales metrics to the Regional, Divisional, and Corporate management.

  • Seeks out new growth opportunities and conducts market research, competitive analysis, and other studies to assess potential benefit to the business. Identify, develop, and support new business opportunities. Create partnerships to broaden the scope of the market served by ADS.

  • Selects, hires, trains, develops, rewards, and manages an effective territory-based inside and outside sales team.

  • Actively participates in sales-based Thought Leadership teams.

  • Implements product and services pricing strategies. Provide feedback to product teams.

  • Participates in domestic and international trade shows and conferences as appropriate.

  • Establishes sales forecasts and long-range sales plans and analyze statistics to determine sales potential.

  • Takes action to gain market momentum for recently developed and launched products and assess after-launch performance.

  • Develops and maintain effective working relationships with key customers and industry contacts to implement product improvements and drive sales.

  • Develops short-term and long-range sales strategies and create strategic alliances with other service providers (OSP’s) to promote and achieve national and international sales objectives.

  • Performs other related duties, including special projects, as requested or required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • B.S. Degree in Business or Marketing; preferred with an MBA

  • 10+ years experience with managing and directing a global sales force, preferably in Wastewater industry or adjacent markets with sales exposure to Municipalities.

  • 15-20 total years experience in business development Excellent leadership and proven ability to foster teamwork

  • Cultivate positive customer relationships. Ability to build client relationships to successfully negotiate and close a deal.

  • Ability to summarize and manage the financial performance of the ES Division

  • Knowledgeable in Value Selling, Voice of the Customer process

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required with exceptional listening skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

  • Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time.

  • Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.

  • Prior experience with sales and sales management tracking databases.

  • Ability to lead change initiatives.

  • Persuasive communicator that successfully negotiates win-win outcomes.

  • Ability to build and lead an AA team that shows exceptional results and behaviors.

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $134,400.00 - $201,600.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
