ManTech Director, Business Development - U.S. Air Force in United States

ManTech is seeking a seasoned business development professional who has knowledge and experience working with and supporting USAF customers including but not limited to: Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC), Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Air Combat Command (ACC), and the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL).

This individual will support ManTech on a remote basis. National and international travel will be required as mission demands.

Role Summary:

This position will work directly for the ManTech Defense Sector Growth organization and closely with the other ManTech business programs and the Air Force and Space Division to provide strategic direction and leadership; develop comprehensive and compelling solutions; support qualification of new business opportunities; develop creative and innovative capture strategies; and assist in the preparation of winning proposals for our government clients.

The ideal candidate must be able to leverage a deep understanding of Air Force missions and current and potential client needs and objectives in the areas of Enterprise IT; Network Operations & Maintenance; Information Technology Infrastructure; Advanced Technology; as well as well as Cybersecurity, Data Analytics and Agile Software Development Solutions.

The position will include oversight of client contact and positioning, teaming interactions, and coordination with other internal business development and sales resources available across ManTech. Experience with customer relationship management and opportunity tracking, as well as experience with a variety of contract types including cost plus fixed fee, fixed price, award fee, and performance-based contracting is key. Familiarity and experience with major Air Force acquisition vehicles is essential.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide market analysis, strategic business planning, and capture strategy/solution development, leading to award of major programs.

  • Develop multi-year pipeline with quality opportunities in support of these AF customers

  • Conduct oversight of customer contact and positioning, teaming interactions.

  • Coordinate with other internal business development, solution architecture and sales resources available across ManTech.

  • Provide customer relationship management and opportunity tracking as well as experience with a variety of contract types including cost plus fixed fee, fixed price, award fee, and performance-based contracting are key.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years current or prior sales and/or program experience supporting Defense-related (Air Force preferred) growth activities

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 15 years Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered, particularly with military service.

  • Solid understanding of Government and Defense Market Trends and technical direction of the client

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ideal candidates are located near Hanscom AFB, Lackland AFBs, or Joint Base Langley/Eustis

  • Candidates with experience serving in AFLCMC and/or ACC preferred

  • The candidate must be an organized, assertive, and highly skilled professional who has thrived in the highly competitive IT and professional service federal marketplace.

  • Ability to communicate ManTech’s value proposition to this customer is essential in this position, as is translating customer intelligence into compelling solutions.

  • Prior AF service experience in the Cyber Warfare/Cyber Defense Operations and/or Acquisition Career Fields is highly desired

Clearance Requirement:

  • Secret clearance is required

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time

  • Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer

  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations

  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

The projected compensation range for this position is $130,500-$217,500. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
