Oklahoma State University Deputy Director of Athletics in United States

Job Summary The Deputy Director of Athletics is chief operating officer (COO) responsible for the day-to-day supervision, coordination, execution, and evaluation of operations for Oklahoma State University Department of Athletics (OSUDA). This position reports directly to the Director of Athletics and serves as second in command of the OSUDA and will assist the Athletics Director in organizing, managing and directing the administrative and related activities of the Athletics Department consistent with NCAA, Big 12 Conference and all governing athletic rules, university rules and policies and the mission of the University. Work schedule may extend beyond regular office hours of 8 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday, as needed to complete responsibilities. Travel is required in the performance of this job. ## Position Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree Seven (7) or more years of previous experience in a leadership role within a major collegiate athletics department or equivalent experience. Proven success as a fundraiser in athletics; demonstrated knowledge and ability in the areas of revenue generation, staff management, facilities management, capital projects, and budgeting; experience in strategic planning and execution; knowledge of contracting, negotiating and change management; ability to facilitate and participate in group meetings; professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; previous experience in overseeing sport programs; must be willing to work weekends and evenings; must be able to work cooperatively with the OSUDA's administrative, coaching and support staff as well as various entities and constituents on and off-campus. Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Exceptional communication skills, oral and written. Attention to detail. Ability to quickly and concisely review, comprehend, and evaluate financial information and the application and impact of such information on the given situation and Department. Ability to effectively communicate and present financial information to a broad array of stakeholders and constituencies. 7 or more years of previous experience in a leadership role within a major collegiate athletics department required. Experience with administration/sport oversight of football & basketball required. *Preferred Qualifications: * Master's Degree Substantial managerial experience in a Big 12, Big 10, Pac 12, ACC or Big East conference collegiate athletic department. Experience as a NCAA Division I student-athlete.
