Position Overview:
The Creative Director, Copy is a visionary who is responsible for keeping the agency ahead of creative and technological trends. This is a top-level creative department position that shares strategic responsibility for the agency with their Account partners, leading in the areas of creative development and presentation, client relations, cross-department idea generation, and team creative oversight. The CD must possess superior conceptual skills, knowledge of pharmaceutical requirements/terminology, and fantastic client relations and presentation skills. The CD, Copy is responsible for helping to formulate and implement the strategic marketing plan that has been developed and to continue molding it into “the big idea.” Open to Copy backgrounds. This position partners and reports to the Executive Creative Director.
Directs the development of creative products at the agency and strives for excellence at every stage of a project, from concept through completion
Partners with Agency Leadership to elevate agency creative strategy and development
Has a wide view of the strategic situation
Provides insights to improve brand work
Keep all work consistent and on brand guidelines and strategy
Key contributor to strategic and tactical planning
Persuasive client ambassador
Elevate creative on their teams, brands, and agency
Raise creative consciousness of agency
Works closely with Account and Finance regarding team financials and utilization
Expand credibility with clients at all levels through advanced thinking and clear communication
Helps establish and maintain the highest possible standards of reproduction for all materials produced by the agency
Empowers the team to success
Informs and advises creative leadership on the status of departmental affairs
Inspires the professional development of staff
Consults with creative leadership, as well as account service, traffic and other agency team members as necessary to achieve agency objectives
Help to identify and eliminate factors creating a crisis, and minimize recurrence
Has outstanding interpersonal and group communication skills
Meets established deadlines or provides reasonable notice of special circumstances requiring deadline extension
Consults with Executive Creative Director and VP, Creative Operations regarding staffing needs
Maintains a current list of available freelance artists, web designers, art and photography stock houses, photographers and other contributory talent and vendors
Engage in personal development necessary to stay current in advertising
Research to become more familiar with clients’ businesses
Desired Skills and Experience
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area preferred
Minimum 15 years experience in a fast-paced, high-volume advertising environment, with at least 5 years in pharma advertising
Fantastic presentation and communication skills
Superior supervisory, management, judgment, and decision-making skills
Excellent creative and conceptual skills, including a highly developed overall design/concept/copy aptitude
Passionate about pharma communication
Strong Knowledge of digital, print, and broadcast production
Demonstrated organizational and analytical skills
Proven ability to multitask, handle stressful situations, and deadline pressures
Excellent in Adobe Creative Suite. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Ability to prioritize workflow and redirect agency projects to meet competing and changing deadlines
Some broadcast TV experience preferred
Both Consumer and HCP experience preferred
Salary range : $225,000
The salary range provided represents what a potential hire may expect to earn in this role at BGB. Actual salary decisions will be influenced by several factors that we use to determine overall fit, including experience (both direct and indirect), education, training, demonstrated qualifications, and organizational need.
