Cognosante is seeking a Cloud DevOps Administrator to support the VA Cloud Operations and Migration Services (COMS) program.

What is the position?

The Cloud DevOps Administrator will be responsible for all aspects of specialized application management for the large-scale COMS contract. The successful candidate will have extensive experience with Ansible Automation Platform end to end management and administration. Experience administering GitHub, Azure DevOps, PowerShell and familiarity with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace and/or ScienceLogic is desired. The DevOps Administrator will be responsible for engineering support for VA Enterprise Cloud (VAEC) Ansible Automation Platform and potentially VAEC GitHub and/or Azure DevOps platforms, including application patching, upgrades and user administration. Desired operations familiarity includes Tier II, and III, Service Desk, NOC, Engineering, Site Support, and IA. The Cloud DevOps Administrator will regularly brief internal Program Management as well as the Government Customer on application status as well as planned future enhancements.

What will I get to do?

• Responsible for end-to-end administration of Ansible Automation Platform, secondary responsibility for GitHub and/or Azure DevOps

• Provides support for user administration, repository security, and application updates within Ansible Automation Platform

• Supports infrastructure as code for software provisioning, configuration management and application automation within Ansible Automation Platform.

• Directs appropriate upgrades to identified applications and operating systems.

• Responsible for maintaining version control, reporting, and testing of Azure DevOps and other applications that store automate build environments.

• Drives process improvement for application resiliency with implementing and testing high availability, failover process and backup methodologies.

• Drives the continual improvement of the processes by soliciting feedback from all areas and levels of technology.

• Provide support for operations and migration services that enable VA to tailor the availability and delivery of cloud computing services based on business and technical requirements.

• Participates in the activities of all technology staff as new processes are implemented, or existing processes are changed.

• Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with all technology teams.

What qualifications do I need?

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Graduate of Technical School, or equivalent (8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education)

• 3 years of relevant work experience

• Understanding of the process of deploying and administering cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) software or Platform as a Service (PaaS).

• Familiarity with process analysis, design and improvement.

• Knowledge of ITIL Incident Management, Problem Management, Request Fulfillment, Change Management and IT Service Desk processes and functions.

• Candidate background eligibility requirements are United States citizen or be a Permanent Resident and have lived in the United States for at least 3 years, clean criminal background and able to obtain a Public Trust (High-Risk) Position.

What additional characteristics will help me thrive?

• Prior work experience supporting VA projects.

• ITIL v3 Foundations Certification

• On-Premises to cloud migration experience

• Specialized experience with Ansible Automation Platform, GitHub, and Azure DevOps.

• Knowledge of Agile project management methodologies and tools.

• Understanding of development and/or cloud migration life cycles.

• Strong presentation abilities.

• Sound internal consulting skills.

• Passionate in developing and implementing best practices and creative solutions to workflow issues impacting the services and the business.

• Business Applications: ServiceNow administration experience, and familiarity with digital.ai Agility

• Standards & Methodology: ITIL, Lean Six Sigma

• Office Automation: Microsoft Office 365

• Planning & Design: Jira Help Desk, digital.ai Agility

Compensation

$96,760.98 - $154,817.56

The pay range for this job is determined by various factors, including but not necessarily limited to location, responsibilities of the job, and alignment with market data. When determining a salary for this role, the following factors may be taken into consideration - contract-specific affordability, education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience. The estimate displayed represents the salary range for this position and is just one component of Cognosante’s total compensation package for employees. It is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, nor a promise of any specific pay for any specific employee.
