Job Summary

The scope of the services required from the CISCO Network Technician will be:

  • Programming, troubleshooting, implementing and maintaining the fixed and deployable

    ROIP systems to include but not limited to:

  • Cisco 1800 and 1900 series Routers

  • Cisco 2800and 2900 series Routers

  • Cisco 3800 Series Routers

  • Cisco 2900 and 3700 series Switches

  • Cisco ancillary equipment

  • Servers, varied types and models

  • All associated data bases

  • Interconnecting cabling and wiring

  • Monitor and document system operation and outages

    Work with Radio/ Communications team members to develop share and transfer knowledge on Integration of ROIP systems to Motorola centric radio system to provide connectivity and audio capabilities to include but not limited to;

  • DIU3000

  • AstroTAC 3000 Comparator

  • AstroTAC Receivers

  • Quantar based transmitters

  • Tone Remote Control (TRC) Consoles

  • Interconnecting cabling and wiring

    Integration of ROIP systems to networks and topology providing connectivity, routing and capabilities to include (but not limited to);

  • Interfacing with the network group

  • Interfacing with the Integrated Project Teams

  • Interfacing with the Security group to ensure that all Information Assurance concerns are validated

    Qualifications & Certifications

  • Candidate needs extensive experience as a Network Engineer, possess prior experience and in-depth knowledge in the area of programming, troubleshooting, implementing and maintaining IP systems and network engineering.

  • Candidate needs extensive experience with Cisco Routers, Cisco Switches, Servers, Firewalls and ancillary network gear.

  • Contractor needs have ability to develop knowledge of radio systems, Console systems and integration/convergence of radio and IP networks

    Candidate shall have in-depth knowledge of industry requirements, standards and protocols to include (but not limited to):

  • FIPS- Federal Information Processing Standards

  • IEEE - Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers

  • TIA - Technical Institute of America

  • SMTP - Simple Mail Transfer Protocol

  • TCP/IP - transmission control protocol/Internet protocol

  • FTP - File Transfer Protocol

  • ICMP - Internet Control Message Protocol

  • UDP - User Datagram Protocol
