Akumin Chief of Staff in United States

Akumin is entering an exciting period of change and growth within the company. To navigate this next phase, we’re seeking a growth-oriented and highly organized Chief of Staff to partner closely with our Head of Fixed Radiology and their team to coordinate strong alignment and accountability across the organization for the priority initiatives. From day one, you will be able to make an immediate impact on the execution of our short and long-term initiatives in terms of streamlining, productivity, strategic projects, and communication between departments.

You will be an extension of this teams executive leadership team, working across all functions (facilities management, capital projects, procurement, supply chain, revenue cycle, scheduling, analytics, payor contracting, pricing, and patient journey) and will ensure roadmaps are executed, constantly assessing risks and opportunities and implementing solutions.

You will support our executive, Randy Woelfel, Executive Vice President & Head of Fixed Radiology.

Strategic & Tactical Responsibilities:

  • Partner closely with the Head of Fixed Radiology, providing exceptional project management to key business initiatives, acting as a sounding board, and creating space for the EVP to focus on strategy, investors, and customer growth.

  • Keep the leadership team focused on the follow-up to our priority items. Filter out the daily decisions and leave the high-priority items with the EVP. Handle the “fire drills” and smaller items.

  • Inform strategy and decision-making with data. Utilize the given resources to search, compile, maintain and track data as it relates to company goals and performance. Understand and pressure test the analysis, being able to tell the story of company performance with data.

  • Serve as the connecting resource between staff, executives, senior leaders, and the EVP with all things from employees, to projects, to goals and objectives, to forecasting.

  • Serve as a subject-matter expert, handling inquiries, developing action plans, and assisting with preparation and dissemination of communications.

  • Tackle special projects and initiatives. As we continue to scale, crucial projects will arise, customer initiatives, conferences, etc. Be able to flex your time and support the EVP and leadership team by jumping in when and where needed.

  • Manage internal workstreams and processes: prepare agendas, take notes, assign action items, support with executive meeting prep, and create a decision-making framework.

  • Identify and prioritize areas for streamlining and creating processes and procedures that drive efficiency, productivity, and scalability across the organization.

  • Partner with the leadership team to support hiring and engagement & retention efforts. Ensure team is appropriately staffed and risk areas are properly addressed.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in management consulting, business operations, investment banking, executive support.

  • Proven ability and experience in building, implementing, and scaling processes, projects, and programs from the ground up.

  • Highly organized: must be able to stay personally organized while managing the priorities of the executive and the team.

  • Demonstrated ability to navigate change and ambiguity, experience successfully maneuvering unstructured problems and driving solutions.

  • Experience successfully managing a high, often changing and challenging, workload of tasks and directives, keeping the work simple and highly efficient.

  • Experience managing administrative individual contributors; providing regular coaching and development while allowing room for the team to take ownership of their work.

  • A high degree of empathy and the ability to dive in and understand the motivations of various stakeholders, establishing high levels of trust with others.

  • Experience pulling, compiling, and reporting on various types of critical data via multiple different tools to a variety of audiences, strong ability to synthesize data & analytics.

  • Ability to quickly learn and understand the business and then weigh in on or make decisions with authority across all parts of the organization.

  • Coachable and Collaborative: As this role will affect various groups differently, must be able to take and provide feedback well from any member of the leadership team and staff.

Travel

Travel requirements are listed below.

  • Remote role, requiring travel of up to 25-35% to meet with key stakeholders and visit Akumin locations.

  • Repetitive movement of hands, arms and legs.

  • See, speak and hear to be able to communicate with patients.

Less than 50% of the time:

  • Stoop, kneel or crawl.

  • Climb and balance.

  • Carry and lift (ability to move non-ambulatory patients from a sitting or lying position for transfer or to exam)

The hiring range for this position ranges from $180,000 – 265,000. The stated pay range for this posting is an average and may not be reflective of your individual circumstances. The pay range for this role takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
