Callen-Lorde Community Health Center is seeking an exceptional Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to spearhead our clinical services, inspire our team, and represent our organization as a leader in LGBTQ+ healthcare. As the CMO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our clinical landscape, ensuring quality, and driving organizational sustainability.
About the Role:
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is a transformative leader responsible for envisioning and delivering comprehensive clinical services at Callen-Lorde Community Health Center. The CMO will not only uphold the highest standards of patient care but also contribute to the growth of our organization as a leader in LGBTQ+ healthcare. As part of the senior leadership team, you will ensure financial viability and enhance patient access to care, making a tangible impact on the lives of those we serve.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and review patient care policies, practice protocols, and organizational policies to align with industry standards.
Oversee medical staff policies, recruitment, training, and orientation, ensuring compliance with best practices.
Assume responsibility for resolving patient incidents and reportable incidents, upholding the health center's integrity.
Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and develop/implement quality improvement plans.
Lead negotiations for hospital affiliations, establish external relationships for enhanced clinical services.
Supervise Directors of Medicine, Director of Oral Health, and Clinical Directors across specialty programs.
Monitor and enhance provider productivity, patient volume, and panel size in line with industry benchmarks.
Collaborate in strategic planning, budgeting, and proposal development.
Represent the organization at meetings, conferences, and professional events.
Collaborate with leadership to foster Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives, promoting an anti-racist and anti-oppressive culture.
Qualifications
Licensed Physician in the State of New York.
Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Physician.
5-7 years of clinical experience in a similar setting.
5-7 years of supervisory and high-level leadership/administrative experience.

Ability to work with diverse populations.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Strong Internet, PC, and spreadsheet skills.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
