Callen-Lorde Community Health Center is seeking an exceptional Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to spearhead our clinical services, inspire our team, and represent our organization as a leader in LGBTQ+ healthcare. As the CMO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our clinical landscape, ensuring quality, and driving organizational sustainability.

About the Role:

The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is a transformative leader responsible for envisioning and delivering comprehensive clinical services at Callen-Lorde Community Health Center. The CMO will not only uphold the highest standards of patient care but also contribute to the growth of our organization as a leader in LGBTQ+ healthcare. As part of the senior leadership team, you will ensure financial viability and enhance patient access to care, making a tangible impact on the lives of those we serve.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and review patient care policies, practice protocols, and organizational policies to align with industry standards.

  • Oversee medical staff policies, recruitment, training, and orientation, ensuring compliance with best practices.

  • Assume responsibility for resolving patient incidents and reportable incidents, upholding the health center's integrity.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and develop/implement quality improvement plans.

  • Lead negotiations for hospital affiliations, establish external relationships for enhanced clinical services.

  • Supervise Directors of Medicine, Director of Oral Health, and Clinical Directors across specialty programs.

  • Monitor and enhance provider productivity, patient volume, and panel size in line with industry benchmarks.

  • Collaborate in strategic planning, budgeting, and proposal development.

  • Represent the organization at meetings, conferences, and professional events.

  • Collaborate with leadership to foster Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives, promoting an anti-racist and anti-oppressive culture.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Physician in the State of New York.

  • Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Physician.

  • 5-7 years of clinical experience in a similar setting.

  • 5-7 years of supervisory and high-level leadership/administrative experience.

  • Ability to work with diverse populations.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

  • Strong Internet, PC, and spreadsheet skills.

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
