R1 RCM Cashier Customer Service in United States

As our Cashier, you will help the Patient Access Department by receiving and disbursing money for services and preparing daily deposits. This cashier will count money, prepare deposits daily, receive payments via cash, credit, or check, and will issue receipts and change to customers. The cashier will need to reconcile all collections and deposits to ensure accuracy for the entire hospital. Every day you will work in the Patient Access Department while working cross-functionally with cash posting, cafeteria, pharmacy, gift shop and local clinical departments. To thrive in this role, you need strong attention to detail, customer service experience, the ability to multi-task and navigate between multiple systems simultaneously while handling patients. You will need intermediate Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook skills as well as outstanding time management skills and the ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks while remaining self-directed. The cashier should have experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and e-mail, and demonstrated typing proficiency.

Please be advised, this is a Part-time role, 20 hours per week. The cashier will work Monday through Friday, 10am - 2pm MST. The cashier will work onsite at Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital, Lehi, 2250 N Miller Campus Drive, Lehi, UT 84043. The cashier must be up to date on all vaccines (including but not limited to annual flu shot). We can help you with your vaccines at no cost to you. The cashier will need to pass a background check and drug screen. 

Here is what you will experience working as a Cashier:

  • Preparing daily deposits (scan and save copies of checks/documents to various folders on shared drive)

  • Coordinating daily deposits and change with the bank

  • Working depository envelopes and bags

  • Taking payments from patients

  • Sending receipts to patients for payments made by patients via the phone

  • Taking and processing virtual payments in Web Collect

  • Assisting patients with billing questions

  • Regularly running and reconciling daily web collect reports

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED

For this US-based position, the base pay range is $15.85 - $21.23 per hour . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
