We are building a culture at Radial that leverages Procurement as a value-add framework to acquire goods and services that increases the efficiency of our operation and optimizes our end-product offering. This role requires someone who is passionate about the world of procurement and can be an effective change ambassador for contingent labor, one of Radial’s most business-critical spend categories.
The Buyer will provide guidance and procurement advice to the internal customers (operations staffing team, site directors, etc.) and the wider organization in matters related to contingent labor. The Buyer will report directly to the Category Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing
Contribute to Radial’s overall strategy by executing the procurement plan to achieve sourcing and cost goals
Implement all aspects of the category strategy, including but not limited to strategic planning, sourcing roadmap, and supplier management
Strategically source (sub)categories with a focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) optimization by utilizing a deep understanding of the business needs to collect and analyze market and spend data
Implement, manage, and optimize framework agreements and contracts, and execute spot buys
Supplier and Internal Relations
Advise and support the internal Radial customer in defining their need, budget, and plan for their purchase project
Maintain relationships with suppliers and evaluate the existing supplier base to identify new beneficial opportunities for Radial
Work with the operations and workforce management team to ensure that ideal vendor/volume allocation per site is executed by local management
Manage supplier relationships to realize TCO optimization, and oversee the execution of supplier performance improvement plans
Submit requests for information (RFIs) to suppliers that present the potential to accommodate the needs of the business, and then create requests for proposals (RFPs) for short-listed suppliers that are interested and capable of meeting Radial’s needs
Analyze RFP responses and potential volume/ pricing changes for quantitative (financial) and qualitative impact to ensure Radial’s strategic objectives can be met
Assist supplier contract negotiations by identifying opportunities for improvement when cross-checking terms and offers across proposals
Ensure compliance with the VMS platform to maximize efficiency to allow Operations team to make risk management and relevant business decisions
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Solid Microsoft Excel skills to build complex models used to forecast the cost impact of switching contract terms, suppliers, or volume allocations
Strong inter-personal skills – need to be able to cooperate with the operations team to weigh operations risk vs cost savings. Making volume allocation decisions is a team sport
Procurement and negotiation techniques for suppliers: sourcing process, selection and negotiation, and management & development
Strategic Sourcing approach: TCO mindset, opportunity identification, and quantitative analysis
Ideally: Knowledge of ERP (SAP) and reporting techniques
Collaborative and goal-oriented mindset
Motivated to drive transformation in a dynamic environment
Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills
Desired Experience:
4+ years of experience in strategic procurement or a related role in a large enterprise
Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience preferred but not required as a Buyer for Temporary Labor
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
