What you’ll do
The Business Solutions Manager must collaborate with business process owners to understand business processes, uncover challenges and opportunities, architect solutions, develop specifications, and implement appropriate, detailed business technology solutions (e.g. modified business processes, automations, new applications, leveraging existing/new technologies, analytics, etc.) that are both scalable and sustainable. These solutions could either be using existing enterprise systems (SAP/Salesforce) more effectively, extending existing systems (changing configurations/implementing new core capabilities/custom functionality), or developing and integrating alternative solutions (SQL Server/.net). Success will be measured by improvements in supply chain business results.
High level summary and Realistic Preview of Job:
Effectively partner with our Supply Chain Planning, Distribution, Customer Fulfillment, Performance Measurement, Operational Excellence and Strategic Sourcing departments to define, develop, and integrate business solutions that support HMH’s objectives and key results.
Use an analytical, data driven approach and custom developed solutions to solve business problems.
Provide analytical and business intelligence solutions/services to support our partner’s decision-making including creation of new metrics, KPIs, reporting, scorecards, etc.
Leverage expertise to troubleshoot challenging data- and code-related problems in existing solutions.
Provide support, including break fixes and enhancements for SQL Server environment, SSIS and Informatica ETL jobs, Access databases, .Net developed solutions and other business developed automations.
Utilize analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and ability to meet deadlines.
Strict attention to detail and intensity around consistently delivering high quality outputs.
Provide liaison communication between business areas and upstream partners such as the IT Technology Group and other technical teams.
Use creativity to spur continuous improvement (processes, morale, quality, etc.).
Understand business processes and how they affect each other.
Provide self-leadership and collaboration with other members of technical teams.
Communicate effectively through formal and informal methods.
Partner with other team members in expanding our continuous improvement and innovative culture.

What you’ll need
Bachelor’s degree in technology-related field (Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Business Management, etc.)
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a supply chain organization with track record of process improvement using technology.
Working knowledge of SAP and Salesforce
Proficient with relational databases, SQL Server, Postgres
Proficient in ASP.Net, ETL (SSIS)
Ability to work collaboratively between business and technology organizations.
Analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
Strong reasoning, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred, but not necessary
Master's Degree (MBS, Industrial Engineering, Analytics, etc.)
Experience in supply chain process improvement.
Experience with Snowflake, dbt, and Informatica.
Experience with Power BI, Tableau, and Salesforce CRM Analytics.
Experience with Tableau Pulse, AI, and machine learning.
Six Sigma training/certifications.
Physical Requirements
Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing).
The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings.
Salary Range - 80k – 90k annually.
