SUMMARY DUTIES

Reporting to the Vice President of Talent and Culture Development, the Benefits Manager is responsible for the administration of employee benefits in all company operations. This position develops, recommends, and installs approved, new, or modified plans and employee benefits policies and supervises the administration of existing plans. Working with company insurance brokers and carriers, this position will manage self-insured medical plans and insurance captives, and develop cost control procedures to assure maximum coverage at the least possible cost to the company and employees. As needed, this position provides special guidance and assistance to all locations on various employee benefit plans. The Benefits Manager surveys industry and/or community to determine the company's competitive position in employee benefits.

This position is based in Morristown, NJ and we offer a hybrid work schedule of four days in the office and one day can be designated as a work from home (WFH).

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administer employee benefits programs such as retirement plans; medical, dental, vision plans; life insurance plans; and temporary disability programs. Will partner with company insurance broker in an effort to have all benefit programs competitive and cost effective for VRG.

  • Manages costs within a self-insured medical benefits structure, working with company-assigned insurance brokers, third-party medical plan administrators, stop loss coverages, and insurance captives, this role will play a key role in plan design, cost share, and wellness programs.

  • The Benefits Manager takes the lead on Open Enrollment in terms of evaluating and comparing existing company benefits with those of other employers by analyzing other plans, surveys, and other sources of information from both plan design and cost structure, partnering with the Finance Department on budgeting and cost management.

  • Manage the company Leave of Absence (LOA) programs, making sure the practice is compliant with regulations such as Department of Labor, Paid Sick Leave, and Family Medical Leave guidelines. In addition, this position will track all LOA usage and coordinate with payroll and benefit carriers as needed.

  • Based on medical claims, and Employee Assistance Plan (EAP) usage will research, design and recommend effective wellness programs in order to reduce medical claims and to assist with employee well being.

  • Assists with the filing of worker’s compensation claims making sure carriers are fully informed of claim status, reporting, and lost time payments. Will participate in regular claims reviews designed to manage and monitor costs and compliance.
