Job Description
The College of Education & Human Development, Department of Counseling, Health & Kinesiology seeks candidates for a full-time, tenure-track appointment beginning Fall 2025. The appointment is for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Human Services. The successful candidate will serve as coordinator of the Human Services program, teach courses within the core program of studies, maintain a productive scholarly agenda, and support the vitality of the university and its programs through service.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will join an intellectually stimulating and innovative academic environment.
The candidate will also work collaboratively with faculty to build a comprehensive Human Services program supporting all populations across a variety of human service settings.
The supervision of field-based students and internship students are also possible.
Mentorship and advisement of students are essential in addition to the involvement in campus activities and other responsibilities, as deemed necessary.
Scholarly activity with publications in referred journals as well as attendance and presentations at professional meetings is essential.
Quality performance will also be expected in teaching, student mentorship, community service, as well as active University committee participation.
Teaching assignments may include day, evening, and weekend courses.
Required Education and Experience:
An earned doctorate in Human Services or a related field from a regionally or nationally accredited institution. ABD candidates will be considered with expected completion date by no later than August 15, 2025.
Two (2) years of experience working in a human services-related field having administrative, direct care, educational, or research responsibilities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to work cooperatively with others and provide excellent customer service to students, employees, and the community.
Experience with program coordination.
Experience teaching human services-related coursework at a college/university.
Experience working with bilingual community-based human services programs.
