Job Description

Full/Part-time adjunct instructor(s) needed for teaching calculus and non-calculus based introductory physics lecture and laboratory for Fall 2024 in person (no online teaching option available).

The above duties may not be performed in every position with this title and the above functions may not include all related duties that might be performed. This position requires physical activities supportive of the above job duties. Reasonable accommodations will be made as necessary.

Required Education and Experience:

  • An earned Master's degree in Physics or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.

  • 18 graduate hours in Physics or a closely related field.

  • Experience and interest in teaching undergraduates in a college/university setting

  • Physics Lecture and Laboratory teaching experience.

  • Excellent (1) oral and written communication skills and (2) presentation skills.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Working towards or has earned Ph.D. in Physics, or related field from a regionally accredited institution.

  • Broad training in physics.

  • Interest in active and collaborative learning, the instructional use of technology.

  • Experience with non-traditional commuter university settings.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to work cooperatively with faculty and staff

  • Ability to respond promptly to queries from students, faculty, and staff.

The letters of recommendation should be written on letterhead, be less than one year old, and must bear the writers’ actual signatures.
