Job Description
Texas A&M University – San Antonio (TAMU-SA) seeks a dynamic leader for the position of Adjunct Professor of Superintendent Studies. This is a part-time adjunct position. This position reports to the Chair of the Department of Educator and Leadership Preparation.
Required Education and Experience:
Successful candidates will have an earned doctoral degree from an accredited institution of higher education in the field of education or a closely related discipline
Current and Valid Superintendent Certification through the Texas Education Agency
The successful candidate will have experience as a Superintendent
Experience teaching Superintendency graduate or post-graduate courses at the University level
Preferred Education and Experience:
Experience working with schools in the Bexar County area
Experience fostering partnerships between Local Education Agencies and Institutions of Higher Education
Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach up to 6 credit hours (up to 2 courses) within the required discipline per semester. Instruction may be delivered on-campus, off-campus, or online and may be during the day and/or evening
Develop and manage the class syllabus and ensure that the syllabus meets department and college standards
Plan and create lectures, in class discussions, and assignments
Assess grades for students based on participation, performance in class, assignments, and examinations
Assist/mentor students as needed
Other duties as assigned
