AIG Underwriting Manager, Auto in Singapore

About the role

What you need to know:

In this role, the candidate will be responsible for leading an underwriting team to ensure the team comply with the underwriting authority assigned. This role will need to identify and establish underwriting strategy that align with AIG’s underwiring guidelines, standards and risk appetites and ensuring pricing adequacy with the objective to achieve the targeted GPW and combined ratio. The role needs to collaborate with internal stakeholder that includes the Actuarial, Claims, Distribution, Customer service and operation and IT teams.

Other responsibilities

  • Review work processes to manage business operation efficiency and ease of conducting business with AIG with stakeholders

  • Ensure adherence to the regulatory, risk and compliance requirements

  • Ensures compliance with workflows and procedures.

  • Maintain and develops strong relationships with agents, broker and client

  • Review customer journeys to emphasize AIG Service Values and strength

  • Review and enhance the product offerings to address needs of customers

  • Ensure the underwriters meet the expected turnround time for referrals, quotations and renewal reviews.

  • Develop and training of Staffs

  • Maintain open and effective communication with the underwriters and foster teamwork

  • Manages the day-to-day operations of the support unit.

  • Manage all underwriting audits and ensure all underwriting audits corrective actions are addressed within timelines

What we’re looking for:

  • Possess recognised insurance qualification and/or relevant tertiary degree from a recognised institution

  • An extensive proven background in Auto underwriting and product management

  • Experience in the Singapore market with respect to consumer insurance products with emphasis on Auto insurance

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with an ability to challenge, adapt to change and deal with ambiguity.

  • Proven record in providing direction, motivating and growing employees to drive high levels of performance.
