Manulife Product Manager, Affiliate Wealth in Singapore

Manulife Investment Management (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. was incorporated in 2007 and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Manulife. With Singapore being a hub for wealth management in Asia, our principal function is to provide investment management and related services to Manulife Singapore, including the management of the General Accounts, and develop and deliver solutions to institutions, retail and high net-worth clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Life Company to Implement Corporate Changes for Funds:

  • Collaborate with the life insurance company to ensure smooth implementation of corporate changes related to investment funds.

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to align fund strategies with corporate objectives.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate policies during the implementation of changes.

  • Create Sales Enablement Tools to Enrich Financial Representatives and Increase Sales:

  • Develop comprehensive sales enablement materials such as presentations, brochures, and digital tools to support financial representatives.

  • Design and implement sales strategies and campaigns to drive the adoption and sales of investment-linked policies.

  • Develop tools and maintain website contents

  • Screen and Identify Fund Gaps and Onboard Funds onto the Investment Linked Policies:

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify gaps in the current fund offerings.

  • Evaluate potential new funds and work with regional stakeholders to conduct due diligence to ensure they meet the company's stringent standards.

  • Manage the onboarding process of new funds, including negotiations, legal agreements and integration into investment linked policies.

  • Periodic outsourcing review with stakeholders

  • Monitor Fund Performances and Rationalize Underperforming Funds to Ensure Quality Funds:

  • Regularly review and analyse fund performance metrics to identify underperforming funds and develop strategies to improve performance or consider rationalization.

  • Communicate performance updates and recommendations to stakeholders and make data-driven decisions to maintain a high-quality fund portfolio.

  • Utilize Data Management to Identify Areas of Opportunity:

  • Use data analytics to identify opportunities for product enhancements, new fund offerings, and market expansion.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to provide analytical insights and support decision-making processes.

Requirements:

  • Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA) preferred.

  • Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, investment management, or a related field within the financial services industry.

  • Proven track record of managing investment products and working with life insurance companies.

  • Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of investment products, financial markets, and insurance-linked investment products.

  • Proficiency in financial analysis, fund performance evaluation, and market research tools such as Morningstar, Bloomberg etc.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create pivot tables, and detailed data analysis.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint to effectively present ideas and strategies to stakeholders and financial representatives.

  • Experience with sales enablement tools and strategies.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to assess fund performance and make data-driven decisions.

  • Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to identifying issues, developing solutions, and implementing changes.

  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
