Job Title: Regulatory Compliance Specialist

Job Summary:

Administers and runs the Regulatory Compliance program for Saudi Arabia by coordinating, leading, implementing, improving, and reviewing various Regulatory Compliance initiatives, as advised by the direct and dotted line manager

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Develops and promotes the Saudi Regulatory Compliance programs and pivotal initiatives in collaboration with the Enterprise Regulatory Compliance team, by:

  • Leading efforts and coordinating support across all compliance practice areas (ITC, Checkpoint, PEC, Information Governance, Conflict Minerals and Environmental), providing mentorship to the Saudi organization regarding compliance with regulations and corporate policy as well as program improvement initiatives

  • Maintaining compliance tools (including Archer) for Saudi Arabia: ensuring location records and self-assessments are complete and up to date, updating or implementing standards, guidelines, and self-assessment requirements, conducting self-assessments and self-audits, etc.

  • Implementing operational procedures in line with Emerson Regulatory Compliance standards and addressing program gaps and improvement plans across Saudi Arabia

  • Conducting Regulatory Compliance due diligence, including for third parties and with respect to new acquisitions, and supporting in the investigation of suspected violations of company policy relating to Regulatory Compliance practice areas as needed

  • Communications and Training: providing regulatory compliance updates and training throughout Saudi Arabia, including scheduling training sessions and compliance days

  • Overall ITC Program support: developing and implementing Emerson standards, facilitating local import and export activities, self-audits, and providing compliance guidance to the business in increased issues.

  • Supervising special import compliance programs such as Free Trade Agreements, Bonded Operations, Royalties, Drawback/Suspension, Paperless Clearances, Classifications and Valuation, as applicable

  • Leading all aspects of supply chain security compliance programs such as Authorized Economic Operator (AEO), as applicable

  • Conducting Checkpoint self-assessments: reviewing procedures surrounding third party due diligence on customers and suppliers and crafting and implementing improvement plans to address deficiencies in accordance with Emerson policy.

  • Product Environmental Compliance (“PEC”) advice: maintaining repository of regulatory development trackers, guidance documents, policies, procedures and trainings on product-related environmental laws locally, assist with issues raised by DACH / EFC, etc.

  • Registering and reporting activities related to Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (“CBAM”), Extended Producer Responsibility (“EPR”) and Substances of Concern in Products (“SCIP”): maintaining up to date expertise in requirements, leading efforts at DACH Sales / EFC for data collection and submission of required registrations and reports, etc.

  • Support customer and supplier PEC communications

  • Communicate metrics for PEC programs and initiatives within the organization

  • Data Privacy Business support: assisting with business function and third-party inquiries (regulatory inquiries, incident response, data subject requests, customer requests, general questions, etc.).

  • Responsible for local coordination with Data Privacy Coordinators as well as assisting with business function and third-party inquiries (regulatory inquiries, incident response, data subject requests, customer requests, general questions, etc.); supporting risk assessment analysis conducted throughout the organization; supporting the Record Retention program.

  • Collects and uses data to supervise progress and present results to Enterprise Regulatory Compliance and site senior management to address deficiencies in applicable Regulatory Compliance programs.

  • Establishes and implements a communication strategy with relevant collaborators.

  • Manages support resources to ensure that all applicable systems are supervised and performing as expected, calling out issues where necessary.

  • Maintains collaborative working relationships with all Regulatory Compliance team members and assists as needed in the development of projects and pursuits.

  • Ensures that applicable local system implementations satisfy Emerson requirements for internal controls.

  • Identifies and advances strategic improvement opportunities and other tasks as assigned

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • 5-7 years of relevant work experience in Regulatory Compliance

  • Degree in law, business, international trade or equivalent

  • Ability to navigate and interpret relevant import and export laws and regulations

Preferred qualifications :

  • Sophisticated MS Office skills

  • Excellent oral and written English and Arabic language skills

  • Comfortable working with senior management

  • Strong organizational skills, reliable and good attention to detail
