Overview

Under the supervision of the Ice Plant Technician Lead, to perform daily task assigned and Ice Plant operations.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily task covering assigned Ice Plant activities.

• Perform bagging, storing, issuing and accounting of Ice bags produced.

• Attends training and ensures best safety practices are followed.

• Provides technical assistance to personnel and daily Ice Plant operations.

• Interfaces with designated government representatives and other contractor elements to ensure smooth operations and compliance with government directives, standards, and needs.

• Accounts for Ice production, tracking, receiving, storage, distribution, maintenance, and turn-in of supplies and equipment.

• Ensures compliance with first-in-first-out rotation and shelf-life policies.

• Maintains full accountability for all property control and property records.

• Responsible for the Ice Plant Key Control System.

• Maintains copies of SDS sheets for applicable supplies received

• Maintains all records in accordance with applicable US Military Regulations.

• Prepares daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly and other situational reports.

• Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications:

• A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

• Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) Certification or the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire is required.

• Must have a UNIVERSAL certification for the EPA Clean Air Act / Section 608, for ozone depleting substances (Refrigerants)

• Serv Safe Food Service Facility Sanitation Training Certificate or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire is required

• 48 Hr. HAZWOPER training is required within 90 days of hire

• Qatar Driving License is required.

• Education/Experience:

• Five (5) years' of experience in Ice Plant operations, Industrial Refrigeration, distribution and inventory control is required.

• Requires as a minimum knowledge forklift driving safety and other hazards associated with the delivery and piling.

• Must be able to operate material handling equipment such as forklift, pallet jack, man lift etc.

• Knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and storage requirements to meet compatibility of products based on hazard class is required.

• Knowledge of Ice Plant equipment, trouble shooting, and repair is required.

• Knowledge of ice production and water sources sampling is required.

• Must be able to understand test results from ISO17025 approved laboratory.

• Leadership and management skills, including a professional demeanor, are required.

• Strong interpersonal skills are required.

• Ability to exercise discretion and good judgement is required.

• Ability to prioritized responsibilities to handle a demanding workload is required.

• Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy is required.

• Advance ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in written form is required.

• High-level organizational and planning skills, so that workflow is managed and accurate is required.

• Basic proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook and ALL Microsoft applications is required

• Program Specific Requirements:

• Possess knowledge of safety and environmental issues as they relate to deliveries.

• Able to communicate in English with customer

• Working Environment:

• In this position there is exposure to physical and working conditions where serious accidents or injuries may occur, exposure to (i.e., hot, dry, environment, disagreeable noise elements and prolonged high ambient temperatures.

• Must be physically capable of lifting 75 pounds a vertical distance of four feet and carrying this weight a horizontal distance of 25 feet.

• May be required to work an uncommon schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Must be able to work extended hours and evenings, as mission requires.

• Must have professional appearance

• Required to observe all safety, security, fire, and health requirements for office, warehouse, and outside environment

• Working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.

• Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes but is not limited to. head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices
