Liberty Latin America Analyst, Fixed Assets & Project Accounting in Panama

What’s the role

The Fixed Asset Analyst role is a critical role that will be focused on the day to day Fixed Asset & Financial functions located in the Panama Operations Center. Become a super user for the new global LLA ERP system and assist with the implementation of the new system and development of efficient Fixed Assets processes.

The Fixed Asset Analyst will be instrumental in identifying process automation opportunities. Works closely and will partner with all levels of the business to deliver high quality accounting and reporting service and analysis to business units.

What you’ll do

  • Support achievement of operations accounting goals and objectives, including analysis of operations related FA topics and support of local finance teams in identifying and concluding on operational accounting issues.

  • Partner and coordinate with the Technical Accounting Group and local accounting teams with respect to the application of worldwide FA policy requirements and procedures.

  • Conduct review of FA account reconciliations and financial reporting and analysis completed by the general ledger accounting staff

  • Ensure FA accounting controls are followed in connection with defined SOX requirements

  • Provide project accounting governance over significant projects

  • Overall integrity Fixed Asset sub-ledger, Project Accounting and US lease accounting.

  • Support Key projects across the Fixed Asset area when required, in conjunction with other teams, including testing and implementation of ongoing process improvements.

  • Manage preparation of variance analysis to support month, quarter and year close requirements

  • Ensure accurate reporting of fixed asset data in HFM.

  • Automate the population of transaction type data in the general ledger from the fixed asset register system to increase efficiency in HFM reporting

  • Perform special projects as required, such as: acquisitions / divestitures, accounting systems upgrades and audit related activities.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

  • Excellent English & Spanish in both verbal and written form.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong analytical skills, the ability to handle multiple projects at once.

  • Ability to define processes, perform gap analyses, and design and implement process improvement solutions to meet established organization performance goals

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to interface with multiple groups, including internal resources and external professional service providers

  • Strong knowledge of financial systems.
