Position Summary

The current SAP Treasury Management System will be redesigned and implemented on the J&J global Central Finance system on S/4HANA.

Main areas are investment management, foreign exchange management, debt and liquidity management, risk management, payment factory, cash management and banking.

The TS finance product lead engineer treasury owns Product engineering and architectural decisions, acting as the executor and the visionary behind the technical solution; works with squad Lead Engineers and Product squads to solve complex engineering problems and craft the technical design; accountable for the Product technical architecture, alignment to the technology roadmap, and technical engineering standards.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

Technology solutions activities

  • Responsible for overall Engineering and Technology architecture definition, roadmap, and technical decisions for the product in coordination with the Product Group Engineer and BU Architect. Accountable for ensuring that technical implementation is aligned to the BU Architecture vision.

  • Work closely with the Business Product Manager to define Product strategy/vision.

  • Work with squads to problem-solve technical challenges and implement solutions, using the squad technology strategy as a guide,

  • Drive development and selection of technical solution options (from the approved list of (global?) solutions) and test concepts / potential solutions with users.

  • Negotiate technology options with business partners and collaborate with product teams to identify opportunities to leverage solutions across platforms.

  • Manage development and review cadence, align tech landscape across squads to promote reusability, scalability, and modularity.

  • Monitor product developments and drive leading engineering practices for higher tech quality.

  • Own the technology lifecycle management and Product API catalogue, including the definition, creation, and maintenance of technical interfaces.

  • Observe technology trends across the industry and conduct research spikes for new capability and innovation opportunities.

  • Ensure timely adoption of new technologies and innovation, select and resource ideas to explore via ideation sessions where necessary.

  • Help Product Owners/Lead Engineers prioritize technical backlogs (across squads) and coach / mentor product and squad members.

  • Works with squads and other Product Lead Engineers to manage risks and solve, escalate, and track cross-product dependencies and impediments.

  • Be the single point of contact for ISRM, TQ (Q-CSV), vendors, and enterprise platform owners.

  • Design flexible, reliable, scalable long-term solutions using modern SAP features.

  • High focus on using / promoting SAP standard solutions, compliance and security, simplicity, speed, and robustness, maximally using SAP customizing solutions.

  • Define quality standards for design, development, testing and operations in alignment with J&J policies & procedures and ensure this is embedded in the organizational culture.

  • Ensure the business and technical solution architecture is complete and matches the requirements.

  • End-to-end ownership from technical design to operational processes in production with a DevOps model and proactive monitoring in mind

Teamwork

  • Work closely with Treasury Product Squads

  • Work with Product Managers and Product Owners to identify and align requirements

  • Align with the Platform Reliability Engineer (PRE) to solve complex engineering problems.

  • Work across multiple BT, architecture, PL and TS groups to define and deliver innovation solutions.

  • Challenge the status quo and identify areas for opportunities within existing IT processes and solutions.

  • Apply delivery automation processes where possible (testing, release, development control, …)

  • Actively participate in the continuous IT process improvement initiatives by striving to look for possible efficiencies, scalability.

  • Agile delivery, working in partnership with the product manager, product owners, product analysts and solution / data engineer roles.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree, combining Finance and Information Technology or Computer Science

  • In depth technical SAP (S4/HANA) Finance knowledge, domain specialist, preferably in Treasury

  • Minimum 10 years of SAP Finance Information Technology of which min 5 years hands-on SAP customizing experience

  • Have or build a good amount of hands-on technical knowledge on every aspect of what is being designed

  • Proven process and systems design skills

  • Strong problem-solving mindset and analytical skills

  • English: Good written and oral communication skills

Preferred

  • SAP Treasury domain expertise

  • Experience with global/regional SAP rollouts

  • Working experience with Agile methodology

  • Testing experience with automated testing tool
