Job Information

Ford Motor Company Supplier Quality Engineer in Mexico

Interface with electronic module suppliers in local region for the purpose of addressing quality issues as well as directing warranty analysis activity. Be a resource for analyzing and summarizing quality data.

  • Quality Analyst

  • Use data analytic techniques to identify trends or patterns in complex data sets as a means to pinpoint issues/problems and provide to appropriate teams responsible for corrective actions

  • Work with product development teams to recommend solutions for quality issues

  • Analyze test results and produce comprehensive reports detailing findings and recommending actionable improvements

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, identifying inefficiencies and suggesting enhancements to products and processes

  • Supplier Quality

  • Lead development of interim and permanent corrective actions using 8D methodology and structured problem-solving tools

  • Review and analyze supplier 8D reports for robustness

  • Facilitate the escalation of unresolved supplier quality issues not resolved in timely manner

  • Work with supplier directly in evaluating supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities and create correction action plans to address process failures

  • Provide technical advice and guidance to suppliers on reducing defect rates

  • Warranty Analysis

  • Coordinate and oversee warranty teardown of field returns with supplier to ensure proper root cause assignment and facilitate chargebacks as appropriate

  • Assist in system analysis using Ford analytic tools to determine the root cause of all incoming claimed parts

Position Qualifications:

BS/MS engineering degree along with two (3) or more years experience

  • Previous automotive and quality analysis experience

  • Experience in quality systems, tools and techniques

  • Experience in data analysis techniques

  • Microsoft Office Knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint)

Position Skills:

  • Able to quickly grasp new concepts, technologies, and processes to effectively adapt to changing quality standards and production methods

  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting data, understanding complex processes, and making informed decisions

  • Work with teams across the organization and be able to coach others on quality standards and communicate effectively to ensure understanding and compliance.
