Industry Strategy & Industry Business Development Orchestration – Finance Industry (Sen. Director) Preferred Qualifications We are seeking a recognized industry expert, evangelist, and thought leader. A person with advanced fluency and presence who can connect with their opposites by authoritatively and compellingly writing, speaking, and presenting for where the Financial Services (FS) sector in LAD is going. Solid understanding and awareness of key industry trends, incl.: + Digital Transformation + Open Banking and Embedded Finance + Modern Risk & Finance + Transformation of Customer Experience (Front to back-office transformation) + IT modernization of Legacy Systems and Infrastructure + Business Innovation through Disrupting Technologies (Cloud, AI/ML, Blockchain, etc.) This position (for the LAD region) is responsible for business development orchestration and the adoption of an end-to-end Industry Strategy for Oracle in the FS Industry. The individual will take a strategic role within the Industry Strategy Group (ISG) to co-develop, co-orchestrate, co-execute, and co-monitor an industry-specific GTM for FS Industry in the LAD region. Hereby, this Senior Director Role will work closely with the ISG team, Sales, Sales Consulting, Product Development, Product Marketing, and Partners globally/regionally/locally to adapt, design, deliver and promote the development of existing and new industry solutions and compelling value propositions. Further, analyze market data to identify trends/opportunities and develop strategic direction from market information. Work with product, sales, and system architects to define industry solutions and value propositions that will help Oracle in LAD capitalize on the opportunities found. Will be actively involved in designing and interacting with Industry Strategy Councils and XLOB Industry Boards, and customer groups to validate strategic direction. Will support and coordinate regional Industry Boards to drive industry strategy and go-to-market motion activities. Support the implementation of business strategies by interfacing with sales and other lines of business, such as Product Development, GBU’s, Marketing, Alliances, etc. Support developing, identifying, qualifying strategic initiatives, multi capability /- product solutions, customer exec-sponsored engagements, while orchestrating collaboration across the organization. RESPONSIBILITIES Business Planning and Industry Assessment + Deliver industry strategy and business plan. + Analysis of competition, whitespace, and regional trends. + Support Industry Strategy Councils and capture the voice of the customer. Industry Strategy Orchestration + Participate / (Co-) manage Industry Strategy Boards and associated SWAT teams. + Initiate marketing and go-to-market execution with field stakeholders. + Lead cross-functional strategy teams to deliver on strategy. Field / Seller Enablement /Partner + Train and support regional sales, presales, and product marketing resources on how to present and position the Oracle industry strategies, industry solutions, and messages. + Ensure end-to-end portfolio awareness across regional leadership, sales, and sales support functions. + Manage FS industry communities. Customer Engagement (for selected Tier1/2 accounts, with transformational Cloud opportunities) + Identify customer-specific solution potential. + Connect Oracle Industry Solutions & Capabilities to customer challenges / opportunities. + Enable Oracle account teams to facilitate customer adoption of Industry Solutions. + Deliver industry presentations in selected Tier1/2 Accounts. + Further + Engage with customer C-levels + Identify customer-specific solution potential + Conduct executive discovery sessions + Connect Oracle industry capabilities to customer problems + Provide industry expertise to strategic account teams Solution and Content Development + Support Industry Solution design, development, and go-to-market rollout and as needed LAD localization + Build Portuguese/Spanish industry solution messaging, incl. key message decks, solution presentations, sales kits, and thought leadership collateral. SKILLS + Leadership skills – ability to develop a compelling vision and to command attention and commitment from Oracle teams, customers, and partners + Consulting skills – ability to develop consultative and trusted advisor relationships with key stakeholders; ability to discover and identify issues and opportunities; ability to leverage business acumen to develop a compelling business case and value proposition + Solutioning and product management skills – ability to connect Oracle products to customer problems, and design and build market-compelling xLOB solutions + Product-/Industry marketing skills – knowledge on how to segment, position, and communicate the value proposition of Oracle solutions. + Executive communication skills – ability to effectively communicate with all parties, including customer executives, internal cross-functional teams, and partners + Presentation and messaging skills – ability to fully understand Oracle’s corporate and industry solution messaging; ability to build executive presentations and effectively present them in front of internal and external audiences + Interpersonal and collaboration skills – ability to collaborate with all stakeholders in an open and respectful manner to keep them motivated, engaged, and committed + Time management skills – ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize under tight deadlines EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION + A minimum of 15-20 years of experience in a similar role with a major company in the industry, a software company and/or a major SI focusing on the Financial Services Industry + Experience in the Financial Services Industry (i.e., Banking, Insurance, Capital Markets, etc.) is a plus + Deep Knowledge of financial services institutionprocesses and technical solutions, a combo background in Vertical Solutions, Enterprise-Grade SaaS, and Cloud Infrastructure is ideal! + International Work Experience (NAS / Europe) would be beneficial + Solid understanding of competitive landscape (AWS, IBM, Microsoft, Salesforce) + BA/BS/MS/MBA degree in related field Detailed Description and Job Requirements Engages in business development strategies and programs in support of Oracle's Sales Organization. Oversees the development of strategic market/product line business plans and marketing programs to support sales in designated market segments. Engages in many areas of business development to include strategy, programs, demand generation, building pipeline, increasing deal size, and account planning. Analyzes market data to identify trends/opportunities and develops strategic direction from market information. Identifies volume and strategic customers. Primary interaction is with Oracle sales force; however, may interact with external customers as it relates to the development and facilitation of ongoing business and/or business relationship. Supports the business by interfacing with the sales organization and other internal groups (such as Product Development, Operations, GBUs, Marketing, etc.) Acknowledged authority within the Corporation. Acts as a leader of large-scale company initiatives. Viewed by peers as a leader and top contributor and by line management as a key business partner. 12 years of Marketing/Business Development experience in the technology industry, preferably software industry. Experience should include relationship management. Conversant in Oracle technology and product strategies. Ability to determine strategy and tactical plans that deliver tangible results.
