Where this role fits in our mission 

As our Country Manager in Kuwait, your primary responsibility is to spearhead and drive sustainable growth and profitability in the local market. We’re seeking a dynamic and results-oriented professional who can leverage their in-depth market knowledge to strategically position our brand for success.



What you’ll be working on  


  • Connects decision makers & develops accountability through cross functional check-ins

  • Understands the big picture and long term view of how Calo can become a household name in Kuwait

  • Maintains accountability and momentum with a focus on:

  • quality of all items that touch the customer (delivery, production, packaging, etc)

  • food / production COGS planning

  • marketing & new subscription and retention rates

  • champion capacity building

  • menu performance

  • Own the P&L by monitoring and reviewing the investment plans vs. results to maintain profitability while growing

  • Target profit contribution range of 20% - 30% excluding Marketing, Discounts and Pre-Operating Expenses

  • Total business EBITDA of 15% - 20%

  • Drive growth by achieving and exceeding financial targets, while carefully managing expenses to ensure profitability

  • Forecasting of P&L two months in advance with Finance

  • Works within the following levers :

  • P&L control and forecasting before investment

  • Price

  • Expanding capacity

  • Employee productivity and costs

  • G&A spend

  • Food wastage controls

  • Cross-functional communication

  • Responsible for connecting cross-functional team like CX, Marketing, Growth, Supply Chain and Production to deliver the Business Unit objects and the overall progress of the company

  • Maintain a healthy work environment between functions with a focus on building trust relationships

  • Develops an environment for MP and Basecamp team members to grow sales and profits of the company and plan the future prospects of the company

  • Assessing, managing, and resolving problematic developments and situations.

  • Create a positive and motivating work environment and atmosphere with a focus on quality for the customer with all stakeholders in the company

  • Curating and executing growth plans for employees to deliver on the business need and personal development

  • Ensures compliance with the laws of country, local regulations and compliance requirements relevant to the food industry in Kuwait

  • Ensuring employee performance assessments are completed every 6 months

  • Work with the finance team to retain constant awareness of the company’s financial position and forecasted P&L

  • Build on and oversee the relationships with manpower suppliers, logistics suppliers and other key partners

  • Work within the payments and purchasing SOP approval matrix to be followed in all companies

  • Work closely with senior management to execute the strategic goals and business strategy in Kuwait

  • Create sustainable and actionable business and people planning that ensure the successful execution of both short and long-term objectives of the organization

  • Present capital investment required to achieve the desired growth while analyzing the profitability impact

  • Define problematic situations and provide practical solutions to solve them and prohibit their reoccurrences

  • Prioritize customer satisfaction by understanding local consumer preferences and feedback, and translating insights into actionable improvements

  • Implement customer-centric initiatives to build brand loyalty and increase customer awareness


    Measures of success

  • Sustainable market growth and successful P&L delivery in line with the growth targets and budgets

  • Leading and managing the team to fulfill the daily orders on time in line with the set quality standards

  • Developing a healthy work environment with a focus on Safety, Quality & Productivity

  • Training plans to enforce the quality standards within the kitchen and dispatch teams 

  • Monthly P&L control with a focus on cost levers


    What we’re looking for

  • Proven track record in achieving business growth objectives in Kuwait, specifically in the food production industry

  • Strong leadership & communication skills

  • Ability to adapt to the dynamic nature of the food industry
