Purpose of Position:

As the Sous Chef, you will hold the primary responsibility for the efficient and effective running of Stone Barn's kitchen in alignment with Hyatt International's Corporate Strategies and brand standards. Your role is pivotal in ensuring employee, guest, and owner satisfaction. As the leading figure in the kitchen, you will directly oversee its operations, turning it into a successful, independently profitable center.

Main Responsibilities

· Oversee and manage all aspects of the kitchen operation, ensuring maximum guest satisfaction.

· You will be the principal figure in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the kitchen's operations and administration

· Develop menus that reflect Stone Barn's award-winning culinary standards.

· Maintain strict adherence to health and safety regulations.

· Efficiently manage inventory, cost control, and kitchen equipment.

· Mentor and lead the kitchen staff, fostering a culture of excellence.

· Supervise the preparation and cooking of various food items.

· Manage culinary colleagues through scheduling, payroll, training, coaching, evaluating and hiring.

· Participate in marketing events directly related to our restaurants.

Qualifications:

Qualifications

· In-depth skills and knowledge of all kitchen operations

· Possess strong leadership, communication, organization and relationship skills

· Experience with training, basic financial management and customer service

· Proficient in general computer knowledge

· A true desire to exceed guest expectations in a fast paced customer service environment

· Capable of producing a consistent product in a timely manner

· Strong training and communication skills

· Ability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays

· Prior experience working in the Caribbean region will be advantageous

Experience:

· A minimum of 2 years in culinary leadership, preferably in a fine dining setting.

· Demonstrated success in a similar role, managing kitchen operations and staff.

Education:

· Additional certifications in culinary arts or management are a plus.

Computer Skills Needed to Perform this Job:

· Proficiency in kitchen management software.

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
