Vectrus Medic Senior in Iraq

Overview

This position will be physically located in Iraq in support of LOGCAP

Under supervision of the Medical Services Supervisor and/or Medic Supervisor, the Medic, Sr. p rovides medical services, first aid, and emergency services. Overseas, occupational health & safety, and clinical medicine. Serves as the initial on-site medic for routine medical issues for contractors and subcontractors; performs vital checks and diagnoses patients with minor symptoms and prescribes medication as necessary. Responsible for administering on-site inoculations for required vaccinations, and drug and alcohol testing. Works closely with on-site HSE management to assess work injuries and accidents, provides documentation to assist company with workers compensation claims. Determines fitness for duty of contractors and subcontractors with senior HSE management. Maintains medical records for on-site contractors and subcontractors. Required to operate an emergency response vehicle and perform maintenance and inventory management on emergency equipment and supplies.

  • Ensures the clinic is in compliance with current work instructions and policies.

  • Ensures the clinic and its staff are in compliance with company privacy policies for patient’s.

  • Provides reports to Medic Supervisor

  • Ensures the clinic is staffed by maintaining clinic schedule.

  • Provides updates on employees to applicable departments and management required.

  • Overseas daily operations of the clinic.

  • Determines fitness for duty of contractors and subcontractors with senior medical management.

  • Maintains medical, property, training, and inventory records for the assigned clinic.

  • Ability to function competently and efficiently in high pressure situations.

  • Inspect and maintain medical equipment and ensure an adequate supply.

  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing work conditions and responsibilities.

  • Instructs classes for the clinical education program and ensures staff are proficient with clinical skills and knowledge base.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent related work experience.

  • Must be able to obtain a CAC.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Must be able to obtain a Driver’s License.

  • Capable of effectively communicating technical information in English, both written and verbally.

  • Experience:

  • Clerical, computer, and communication skills are required.

  • Paramedic or Critical Care Paramedic:

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience at the Paramedic level.

  • Previous experience managing a clinic or medical department.

  • Paramedic certification (good through period of employment)

  • ACLS and BLS certification preferred.

  • Certification in a formal trauma course is preferred.

  • Clinical experience in the setting in a community health center, Emergency Department or any critical care specialty experience is a plus.

  • Remote experience preferred.

  • Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook)

    OR

    • Registered Nurse:
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as a registered nurse.

  • Possess current Registered Nurses Certification. (must be good through period of employment);

  • Previous experience managing a clinic or medical department.

  • ACLS and BLS certification preferred.

  • Certification in a formal trauma course.

  • Additional Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician or above is preferred.

  • Remote Experience Preferred.

  • Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook)

    OR

    • Physician Assistant/Clinical Officer or equivalent:
  • Minimum 3- 5 years’ experience as a physician assistant or equivalent.;

  • ACLS and BLS certification preferred.

  • Previous Experience managing a clinic or medical department.

  • Certification in a formal trauma course is preferred.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook);

  • Clinical experience in a community health clinic, Emergency department or any critical care specialty is a plus.

  • Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook)

  • Remote medical experience preferred.

  • Skills:

  • Prioritize responsibilities to handle a demanding workload

  • Working Conditions:

  • Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).

  • Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.

  • Physical Requirements:

  • Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.

  • Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.

  • Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
