Job Description

The Golden Gate Data Fabric team is responsible for building a data platform on Lake House architecture. We aim to revolutionize how data professionals manage and interact with data sets. We are seeking an engineer with the expertise and passion to tackle challenging problems within this data platform.

Career Level - IC4

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with team members to lead the architecture, design, and development of key features.

  • Collaborate with highly talented and productive developers to complete improvements with high quality and on time.

  • Take end-to-end ownership of assigned modules.

  • Identify process improvements in automated problem identification, triage, and resolution recommendations.

  • Work in a global environment, collaborating with multiple teams

  • Gain comprehensive exposure to product development processes and participate in reviews with architects and senior developers across multiple teams.

  • Raise the bar for engineering quality and best practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a relevant technical field involving coding or equivalent practical experience.

  • 8-10+ years of overall software development experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to write excellent code using Java.

  • Proven ability to deliver products and experience with the full software development lifecycle.

  • Experience working on large-scale, highly distributed services infrastructure.

  • Deep understanding of designing and implementing data pipelines.

  • Extensive knowledge of big data technologies like Apache Spark, Spark Streaming, Flink, Beam, Kafka, Delta Lake, and Parquet.

  • Experience in Building Data Platforms used by various industries.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Combination of deep technical skills and business acumen to interface with all levels and disciplines within our customers' organizations.

  • Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational databases.

  • Strong knowledge of Apache Spark, Spark Streaming, Flink, Beam, Delta Lake, Iceberg, Parquet, and Kafka.

  • Strong knowledge of databases (SQL and NoSQL).

  • Familiarity with cloud-based data storage and processing services.

  • Understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and governance.

  • Deep knowledge of ETL processing and tools.

  • Experience processing, filtering, and presenting large quantities (millions to billions of rows) of data.

  • Hands-on experience developing services on a public cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, Oracle).

  • Experience with multi-cloud architecture.

  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IAC) languages, preferably Terraform and Ansible.

Responsibilities

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
