BASF Senior Manager - Acids, Polyalcohols & Diols in India

Main tasks

Sales Management:

  • Steer business of the assigned SBUs in the subregion and manage product portfolio to ensure sustainable and profitable business growth of the SBU. Be responsible for local business plan and budget to achieve targeted cCM1 and volumes

  • Contribute in the strategy development process and ensure implementation and monitoring of measures in the subregion in line with regional/ global SBU Strategy

  • Monitor market trends, conduct competitive landscape mapping & implement measures to achieve short-term business objectives based on product-market knowledge for industry segments

  • Align and implement margin policy for customer segments; empower and support/coach margin management of Account Managers

  • Ensure successful execution of global/regional strategic initiatives, e.g. OMP-DP, NPS, Customer Network/Transplants initiative, KAM,

  • Execute key projects for SBU (e.g. new application/ business development/ investments/premarketing)

  • Review and develop with Account Management/PM/SC structural solutions to increase service- and delivery reliability, especially if seen as differentiator

  • Ensure adherence to global and regional Business & Safety Compliance

Customer Management:

  • Implement NPS and monitor its KPIs. Leverage customer feedback to implement measures and continuously improve customer service

  • Support and Coordinate with RBU PMs and account managers in countries on GKA/cross-BU RKA/ local key accounts as well as Customer Network /Transplants teams

  • Effective credit control and working capital management to meet targets of DSO, DIV and overdues

People Leadership:

  • Team building & motivation

  • Continuously develop SBU-specific business competency, e.g. business intelligence mindset, business development/negotiation skills

  • Design IDPs for individual team members. Identify training needs for team members and monitor its implementation. Identify X-BU opportunities for career development of team members

  • Talent development (LEADx) for the unit
