The Custom product business is delivering industry leading custom IC system solutions including display and touch power products, camera PMICs, charger power products, power switches/muxes, Laser drivers, High speed communication interfaces. Job Responsibilities:
Lead all aspects of design: RTL, DV, DFT, Synthesis, STA, place and route, floor planning, clock expansion, physical verification, signal integrity, power integrity, and design closure along with reliability tasks
Work with system designers and AMS owners to understand the design complexity and plan physical design activities.
Interface with customer, engage in detail oriented technical discussions and status discussions, guide, mentor and create strong leads in the team
Work on daily basis design activities and challenges with front-end designers and back-end designs
Interface with worldwide development team and provide regular updates on chip development activities
Hands-on RTL design capability
Secondary Responsibilities include one or more of below:
Work with other chip design teams to share best practices.
Interact with the software and systems teams to understand the end application/domain.
Develop expertise in the area of Power Management design
Keep up with the advancements in the area of chip design tools and technologies, and incorporate these in future chips.
Silicon debug.
Projects and Deliverables:
Work on leading edge PMICs to grow TI market share in the Power IC’s
Be part of best is class chip team and work tightly coupled with worldwide firmware/systems team to successfully design products.
Deliver robust functional silicon.
Plan chip development strategy to deliver an on-time product meeting high-performance and low power goals.
Identify areas in the design process that will improve the chip design activity
Work closely with AMS and DMS verification functions and enable thorough verification of the chip and associated functions
Minimum Requirements:
B.Tech/M. Tech in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, VLSI
5 Years of experience in SoC/IP Digital Design (RTL to GDS-II)
Prior industry experience in managing a digital design team
Strong problem solving along with solid circuit theory fundamentals
Experience managing integration of complex digital designs, mixed-signal IPs in the chip
Supervise and manage a team of experienced and young engineers
Good communication and presentation skills and team work.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
PMIC related digital IP /IP design experience
Interfacing with customers
Experience with ramping a product to mass production
Team and People Skills:
Excellent team work skills and ability to mentor junior members are crucial for this position. The position as a Design Engineer requires rigorous interactions with the specifications team, systems engineering team, RTL, DV, DFT, synthesis/STA, physical design engineers and customer(s).
