Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is building a next-generation cloud platform that supports the most demanding mission-critical customer requirements, operating at a global scale to provide a secure, distributed, multi-tenant cloud environment.

Our mission is to provide our customers with the best in class compute, storage, networking, database, security, and an ever-expanding set of foundational cloud-based services. This role will be working in the MultiCloud area, addressing the implementation of connectivity and features across Clouds such as OCI and Azure. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineering Manager with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems in many areas – such as distributed systems, virtualized infrastructure, specialized high-performance hardware, and highly available services. We are working on ambitious new initiatives and a senior manager can have significant technical and business impact.

The Role

As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will

  • Recruit, Hire, Build the engineering team

  • Lead and Own incremental software delivery and service

  • Drive future architecture and design

  • Partner with Product Manager and Management to build long term and short-term roadmaps

  • Own team’s operational excellence through continuous process improvements

  • Retain and Grow your engineering talent pool

Requirements

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience working within an engineering team

  • 4+ years of people management experience and managing engineers.

  • 3+ years of experience architecting, designing of new or current systems

  • Strong understanding of Cloud technologies and Distributed architecture

  • Hands on experience in Agile/SCRUM methodologies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.

  • Experience in working closely with product management team

  • Excellent communication skill. Ability to influence and collaborate with stake holders is the key to success to this role.

  • Ability to deal with unknowns.
