Building Surveyor - Midlands & Northwest

Sedgwick Commercial Surveying & Design develops and services both the major and complex loss insurance market and continues the professional service offering to non-insurance markets and existing clients. Our varied team includes is includes graduates, experienced MRICS surveyors, architects and technicians.

To support continued growth, we we are looking to hire an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor to cover the Midlands & Northwest region .

You will be involved in numerous projects both on contractual and professional services instructions. The team provide the full range of Building Surveying, Architectural, Project Management and Principal Designer services. These services are offered to both internal and external clients and across both public and private sectors. This entails a diverse range of instruction types across professional services, acquisition surveys, dilapidations, building pathology, principal designer, new build, extension and contract admin projects.

An ability to manage a workload and make reasoned decisions under pressure is a must. You’ll be required to assist, manage and mentor other junior surveyors and members of the team alongside your own workload.

You will have/will be:

  • Ideally MRICS qualified Chartered Building Surveyor

  • Full UK driving licence essential

  • Extensive knowledge of building construction and relevant legislation

  • Able to plan projects to ensure robust control of time, cost and quality

  • Experience across the provision of all core Building Surveying Services

  • Experience in schedule preparation and contract administration of building projects

  • Experience in Principal Design work advantageous

  • Highly responsible and decisive, but also a team player

  • I.T. literate, particularly with MS Word and Excel and knowledge of AutoCAD.

  • Able to appreciate the importance of delivering and exceeding outstanding client service

  • Composure under pressure, excellent communication skills and empathy are therefore key attributes.
