Job Summary and Description:
Performs complex analysis with minimal direction and supervision. Works directly with EPRI staff and engages in supervised interaction with members and industry.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements:
-Conducts technical searches and analyzes information in support of the project team.
-Conducts some independent research, with support from technical leads.
- Extensive, demonstrable experience leading and executing AI/ML research on energy sector applications and use cases.
-Good knowledge of power systems, energy systems more generally * Knowledge of power flow problem formulations, including familiarity of the simulators and data models used.
-Demonstrable expert knowledge of Python and other programming languages necessary for AI/ML application development.
-Practical experience working as a team in an agile approach on projects.
-Desirable: Software engineering product development experience
Additional Requirements:
-Assists technical research leads in assessing customer needs, formulating technical approaches, preparing proposals, technical publications/papers, and making presentations with minimal supervision.
-Able to present at external conferences and meetings on technical work.
-Has an understanding of other programs at EPRI and how specific program work fits into the EPRI mission.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience required.
EPRI is committed to complying with the regulatory framework governing export control, consisting of international treaties, U.S. laws, regulations and trade sanctions, and where applicable, foreign laws governing export control. These include the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Part 810 nuclear export regulations, and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). It is a critical requirement of this role that the successful candidate will have to work with export-controlled technology / information.
