Vectrus BEAR Manager in Germany

The Basic Expeditionary Airfield Resources (BEAR) Manager maintains all BEAR equipment in accordance with (IAW) applicable Technical Orders, commercial manuals, and publications. The BEAR Manager uses a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to document all inspections and maintenance on BEAR assets not managed via a Government Information System (GIS) listed in PWS Paragraph 2.5.2. Air Force (AF) BEAR Mobility Equipment, better known as Harvest Falcon (HF) and Harvest Eagle (HE), is designed and sized to support simultaneous Major Theater Wars (MTW), and the equipment provides theater warfighters billeting, industrial, and airfield capability to support a total of 68,200 combat troops and 822 aircraft at austere locations, building complete bases from the ground up.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
The GPMS BEAR Manager leads a team of maintenance technicians to sustain, store, repair, deploy, reconstitute, and provide care of supplies in storage (COSIS) for BEAR assets, as identified in the GPMS PWS. The BEAR Manager stays current with all USAF guidance and doctrine related to BEAR assets and GPMS procedures for asset management.
Other duties include developing testing plans for USAF BEAR systems deployable field equipment, including structural systems for housing, storage and maintenance, electrical generation and distribution, refrigeration and hygiene systems, water production treatment, distribution and disposal systems, and associated support equipment. The BEAR Manager executes testing plans to determine system performance, generates final reports on evaluation findings, and provides recommendations to AF agencies for procurement decisions. Other tasks include configuration management; BEAR modernization, including vendor contacts and new technology research; alternative and renewable energy sources; and liaison with AF agencies, other military branches, commercial research and development (R&D), and vendors.
Follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.
Basic Expeditionary Airfield Resources (BEAR) Air Force civil engineers are likely to site, install, or operate in an expeditionary field environment.
Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required
U.S. citizenship is required
Active Secret Clearance
Prior management experience in USAF civil engineering support is desired. Develops and implements training and maintenance programs. Follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible. Primary responsibility using the AF Form 847, Recommendation for Change of Publication: route AF Form 847s from the field through the appropriate functional chain of command and Major Command (MAJCOM) publications/forms managers.
Ensures that all records created as a result of processes prescribed in this publication are maintained according to AFMAN 33-363, Management of Records, and disposed of in accordance with (IAW) the Air Force Records Disposition Schedule (RDS)
Has the ability to correctly interpret and apply all policies and procedures.
Knows and understands how to use the CMMS to document all inspections and maintenance on BEAR assets.
Reports readiness rates, preventive maintenance schedules, open/closed work orders (WO), and projected get-well dates for maintenance delays.
Ensures all critical equipment on-hand is maintained in a serviceable condition.
Oversees the reconstitution of equipment IAW applicable TOs and commercial within specified contract timelines.
Manages meetings and communications for production meetings adhering to mission requirements.
Must have a Secret clearance.
Possesses knowledge of the Air Force\u0027s BEAR program and equipment.
Is able to set up and tear down BEAR equipment in a timely fashion. Develops and implements training programs.
