Definity First Observability Engineer (Datadog) in Colombia
We are seeking an Observability Engineer with deep expertise in observability to help us maintain and enhance our monitoring capabilities. This is a remote position open to candidates from any part of LATAM.
Requirements
Extensive hands-on experience with Datadog, including setup, customization, and management.
Strong understanding of observability practices, including logging, metrics, and tracing in cloud and hybrid environments.
Experience in monitoring and improving the performance of complex systems.
Ability to diagnose and resolve system issues efficiently using observability data.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical team members.
Advanced English proficiency.
Staying current on industry best practices and iteratively updating observability tooling to improve effectiveness.

Main activities
Design, implement, and maintain observability solutions across both application and infrastructure realms.
Utilize expert knowledge in Datadog and related tools to monitor and manage infrastructure, applications (especially APM), and security.
Develop monitoring and alert strategies in collaboration with other teams, while consulting on and educating best practices in observability.
Monitor and manage the costs associated with observability solutions.
Analyze and troubleshoot performance issues across the stack, from infrastructure and network layers to application services.
Develop dashboards to present key metrics in collaboration with other teams, tailored for various audiences (from executives to engineers).
Participate in and support incident response activities using observability systems and data.
Education
Computer Science/Information Technology Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
