The Role: Lead II, Software Engineer

Team

The Commodity Insights North American Upstream Ingestion development team consists of geographically diversified software engineers responsible to develop scalable solutions by working directly with our product development partners. Impact

Lead the development team in developing and delivering software applications at the core of the consolidated North American energy data accumulation platform - specifically in the subsurface area. The leader of this team must contribute hands-on technical leadership while also investing in team and colleague growth.

  • As leader of a software development team, provide hands-on leadership of the team’s design, development and testing activities to deliver high quality software solutions based on industry requirements.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical Expertise – Must have experience in Oracle and SQL Server DB as well as .net C# and ETL principals.

  • Candidate should also be versed in AWS technologies or have a desire to learn.Also seeking for a leader that has experience in or willing to learn in the following areas:

  • .Net/.Net Core C#

  • Angular

  • Rest Services

  • Experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) tools is a plus.A good understanding of Azure Dev Ops for CI/CD integration, agile artifacts and ceremonies.

  • Leadership – Motivate high performance by skillfully providing clear direction coupled with empowerment. Lead by example, modeling integrity and accountability.

  • Communication – Effective two-way communication of technical and business concepts with team members and stakeholders, in groups or as individuals, through well-chosen mediums. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills are essential.

  • Software Development Life Cycle – Understanding and implementation of agile principles and practices.

  • Decision Making – Ensure effective decisions are made in a timely manner. Work to ensure that team members and stakeholders are aligned with those decisions.

  • Performance Management – Evaluate the performance of team members throughout the year, clearly articulate areas of both high and low performance, establish challenging developmental goals and uphold a standard of accountability.

  • Leading Change – Identify ways the status quo is keeping the team from achieving its highest potential, help the team gain insights to establish a new path forward and follow through on execution.

  • Delegation – Assign appropriate responsibilities to foster leadership development of direct reports. Clearly define expectations and provide coaching appropriate to colleagues' development level.

  • Hiring – Use a systematic approach to thoroughly evaluate candidates’ technical and behavioral strengths, selecting only those of the highest quality regardless of urgency.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelors in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience.

  • 8-10+ years of experience in software and database development and management experience a plus.

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):

S&P Global states that the anticipated minimum base salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 depending on experience, with addition to bonus. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
