In this role, the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will provide human resources guidance and expertise to support key strategic initiatives. This role will report directly to the Manager, Human Resources Planning – Major Projects and will be responsible for recommending, planning and coordinating various human resources work streams such as workforce planning, recruitment, employee life cycle and retention that aligns to major projects.
Over the next 13 months, this role will be aligned to supporting the development of a number of off-site Health Hubs in the communities of Mississauga and West Toronto. Health Hubs aim to integrate and co-locate a continuum of population specific services built around the needs of patients.
The HRBP may be assigned to other projects within Human Resources, which could include initiatives related to advancing THP’s Strategic Plan, Major Projects (such as hospital development), and other HR departmental projects.
Here’s what you will get to do:
Use sound judgment, people and business acumen and practical experience to provide effective human resource advisory services and solutions which address the full suite of HR offerings, including employee/labour relations, strategic talent acquisition, total rewards, health, safety & wellness, and training;
Work cross-functionally to maintain strong and collaborative relationships with all groups across the project team and external stakeholders;
Collaborate with leadership to develop talent acquisition & retention strategies & processes in order to drive organizational strategy;
Focus on experience by supporting the day to day operational needs including providing advice, direction to management and employees;
Coordinate the resolution of specific policy-related and procedural problems and enquiries;
Support an environment that drives performance, two way communication and ensures that our people are engaged and recognize their contribution to THP mission in a meaningful way;
Support human resources priorities, identify and communicate risks and mitigation strategies in collaboration with project team;
Remain current on HR related legislation and regulations and participate in developing appropriate policies and procedures.
Here’s what you need to have:
Must have a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in a human resources business partner capacity, specifically with labour relations expertise;
Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, Psychology, Organizational Development or a related field;
Certified Human Resources Professional/Leader (CHRP or CHRL) designation or working towards certification preferred;
Previous experience in project coordination/management within HR is an asset;
Ability to thrive and be comfortable in an ambiguous, fast paced, high growth, and complex health care environment;
Strong relationship management, influencing skills and ability to provide pro-active and responsive solutions;
Highly motivated, self-starter with a positive ‘can-do’ approach that thinks outside the box;
Strong analytical skills and an ability to problem solve complex issues with resourcefulness and creativity;
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage stressful situations with compassion and integrity;
Knowledge of Human Resources practices, principles, collective agreements and employment legislation;
Strong presentation, facilitation and communication skills - both written and verbal; and
Demonstrated ability to develop effective and comprehensive reports and presentations for various audiences, including executives, administrators and clinicians.
