Red Hat Senior Technical Support Engineer in Brazil

The Middleware Support Delivery team is seeking skilled Java experts to join our team of middleware engineers supporting the JBoss Enterprise Middleware Suite and customer service skills in Brazil. We're adding an engineer with functional expertise and strong industry experience to provide support for our enterprise subscription customers.

As a Middleware Technical Support Engineer, you will provide an important level of technical assistance to ensure that our highly-valued customers get the most out of the product and you will become an expert in Red Hat’s technologies, including products as Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (JBoss EAP), Red Hat Single Sign-On (RH-SSO), Red Hat build of Keycloak and Red Hat OpenShift.

In this role you will use your skills and passion for performing investigation, troubleshooting to resolve customer issues, debugging source code and patching and enhancing it. What you will do

  • Own the resolution of customer issues from initial contact to complete customer satisfaction

  • Provide high-level, detailed technical assistance to ensure that our customers get the most out of our Red Hat JBoss Middleware offerings

  • Use efficient problem-solving techniques, debugging source code and resolve complex, critical, and sensitive support issues

  • Learn new technologies and provide blogs, whitepapers, and knowledge base articles pushing technical knowledge out to our customers and the community

  • Engage and collaborate with open source developers around the world

  • Serve as a technical point of contact for a technology of your choice within the Red Hat JBoss Middleware domain

  • Advocate customer requests and offer innovative ideas to improve the quality of our offerings

  • Manage assigned offerings and components by prioritizing open issues for development

What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in a technical support, development, engineering, or quality assurance organization

  • Experience with JEE , CDI, JPA, REST, transactions JMS, Maven, and Git

  • Experience with IBM WebSphere , Red Hat JBoss Middleware, Oracle WebLogic, Apache Tomcat, or OpenShift by Red Hat

  • Solid customer service skills

  • Outstanding troubleshooting and debugging skills and passion for problem-solving and investigation

  • Ability and willingness to learn new open source middleware technologies

  • Clear and effective communications skills in English

  • Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with customers, third-party vendors, and Red Hat's associates

The following is considered a plus:

  • Certifications like Red Hat Certified Specialist in Enterprise Application Server Administration or Red Hat Certified JBoss Administrator (RHCJA)

  • Experience with java security (e.g. JAAS/JEE Security, Kerberos, Keycloak, SSO, Ldap, SSL/TLS) is a plus

  • Experience with the Linux or Unix operating systems

  • Experience with technologies like Docker, Containers, Kubernetes, and OpenShift
