This position has overall accountability for the performance of the department including the quality and consistency of all tasks, activities and deliverables prepared by the discipline Engineers across multiple projects and customers in the region.

Within the remit of the function, plans, organizes, coordinates, and controls projects in accordance with the established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements approved by the company. Has responsibility for day-to-day management, development and deployment of team members and interfacing with customers as required, with a focus on delivery and customer satisfaction.

Possesses knowledge of the respective industry. Will be required to contribute towards proposals and shall seek to grow the business within the area of expertise. Job role has budgetary accountabilities.

KBR is seeking to hire a Department Manager - Metallurgy to be based in Abu Dhabi.

Experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering preferred.

  • Should have a minimum of 20 years of relevant experience in the oil & gas industry.

  • Considered as an SME in area of interest.

  • Previous experience managing a team of engineering professionals.

  • Self-starter, driven with a good combination of technical and soft skills.

  • Good working knowledge of Metallurgy Frameworks for operating organizations.

  • Development, implementation, documentation, maintenance and day-to-day administration of the Metallurgy studies, workshops, reports, design deliverables, calculations, reporting and specifications to meet the objectives of the projects within the Abu Dhabi/ Middle East portfolio.

  • Establishes and maintains the technical standards within the discipline.

  • Sets strategic and tactical direction regarding policy/procedures, work force staffing, and budgeting.

  • Responsible for the overall development of the Metallurgy discipline resources.

  • Ensuring that changes to regulations, regulatory guidance material, industry standards and recommended practices related to Metallurgy are incorporated into the necessary policies, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance with the most current requirements.

  • Liaising with other Departments and functions.

  • Previous Middle East experience beneficial.
