Job Title: Structural EngineerJob Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join their highly collaborative and motivated staff in the Virginia Beach, Virginia office’s Building Engineering practice. This role offers the opportunity to apply your talents to some of the world's most challenging, interesting, and meaningful projects, committed to excellence in innovation, technical quality, and client service.

Hard Skills

• 6+ years of related experience in designing structural systems for commercial and institutional facilities

• Professional Engineer license (EIT with plans to sit for PE considered)

• Proficiency with Revit

• Experience with Antiterrorism/Force Protection and Blast Resistant structural design

• Proficient in engineering calculations, spreadsheets, and report writing

• Civil Engineer Degree (structural emphasis is a plus)

Soft Skills

• Ability to start and lead a new team

• Mentoring capabilities

• Strong collaboration skills

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Virginia Beach, Virginia and some days remote.

Work Environment

The work culture has a family feel with a laid-back atmosphere and encourages cross-collaboration with civil/MEP/arch teams. The successful candidate will initiate the structural team in the Virginia Beach office, with long-term plans to mentor and expand the team. The schedule is hybrid, with in-office work required from Tuesday to Thursday and the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
