Naval Sea Systems Command LEAD ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (MECHANICAL) in Virginia Beach, Virginia

Summary You will serve as a LEAD ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (MECHANICAL) in the PROPULSION & POWER DIVISION within the PROPULSION POWER & AUXILIARY SYSTEMS DEPT of NSWC PHILA DIV. Responsibilities You will ensure work assignments are completed in accordance with established directives for 6 Civilian Government and Contractor employees, and assigned military personnel at 3 geographically separate Assault Craft Units and Naval Beach Units. You will serve as a Marine Gas Turbine Systems On-Site Representative (OSR) for existing (LCAC Class) and newly delivered (LCAC 100 Class) Assault Craft and systems. You will articulate and communicate assignments, projects, problems, actionable events, milestones, program issues, and deadlines for completion. You will serve as a coach, facilitator and/or negotiator in coordinating team initiatives and in consensus building activities among team members. You will ensure work is completed in accordance with established standards by spot checking work not typically reviewed, and verifying completed work meets established process on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying engineering technology concepts and practices to coordinate or plan mechanical engineering support for the testing, maintenance, or modernization of propulsion systems.
