Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Director of Finance in VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia, United States. As a Director of Finance, you will be responsible for overseeing financial controls, managing the accounting department, coordinating third-party billing, and supervising the accounting team.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee accounting and financial controls, including general accounting, client services, and financial recording.

• Manage the accounting department to ensure accurate and timely processing of financial activities.

• Develop and implement accounting procedures and internal controls.

• Coordinate with other departments for effective collaboration.

• Oversee third-party billing and ensure prompt collection of accounts.

• Prepare and implement corporate budget plans.

• Assist in reviewing financial statements and projecting residents' ability to pay fees.

• Liaise with auditors and prepare necessary financial information.

• Oversee internal audit program and ensure compliance with policies.

• Manage accounting systems, applications, and data storage.

• Lead and supervise the accounting team, including overseeing hiring, coaching, and performance reviews.

• Prepare financial reports for executive meetings.

• Assist in cash management and reconciling accounts.

• Monitor payroll tax returns and external filing requirements.

• Communicate concerns and compliance issues to senior management.

Requirements

• Highly preferring a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification

• Demonstrated experience with full cycle accounting

• Strong leadership and management skills

• Proficiency in financial reporting

• Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel

• Ability to develop and manage financial strategies

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills

• Proven experience in budget development and oversight

• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports

• High level of commercial and business awareness

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related field is required

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, technical, IT and numerical abilities are crucial

• Knowledge of financial regulations and legislation.
