Electrical Technician

  • Location: Virginia, Brisbane

  • Rotating Roster: 2 x weeks of Days (6am-2pm) and 1 x week of afternoons (2pm-10pm)

Your job, as Electrical Technician within the Mechanical Team in our Consumer Healthcare Business, will be to set up and maintain utilities production and supply- facilities, production equipment and components, including control, automation and internal IT devices. Opportunity for the right person to lead small-scale projects in your own area of specialisation or contribute input to more complex projects!

Main responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance on services throughout the Virginia plant

  • Contribute to team effectiveness through participation and cooperation

  • Respond to site maintenance requests and equipment failure according to priority set by urgency and importance

  • Action requests for unplanned improvement work completed in accordance with agreed plans and timeframes

  • Support line operators with machine set up, running adjustments, advice and guidance

  • Involvement in introduction, commissioning and validation of equipment is conducted as required

  • Assist with design and manufacture of any new process improvements

  • Involvement in site lean initiatives

About you

  • Must have completed a recognised electrical trade apprenticeship and hold a current Queensland electrical fitter/ mechanic license

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in a Pharmaceutical or FMCG (Food or Beverage) environment preferred

  • Basic understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and general maintenance process methods

  • Must have proven experience in PLC fault finding, ideally with Siemens TIA experience

  • Dual trade with instrumentation highly desirable

  • Hazardous areas qualification and experience desirable

Soft and technical skills :

  • Strong process and technical problem-solving competencies

  • Ability to work autonomously and part of the team

  • Good presentation, personal organisation and motivation skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to prioritise and adapt to a changing environment

Languages :

  • Good working level of written and verbal English required.
