We are seeking an enthusiastic problem solver, team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills to join our team as aRefrigeration Mechanic,in the Food Manufacturing industry. The Refrigeration Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, repair, troubleshooting and installation of facility equipment and refrigeration systems.
Requirements
Assist with the inspections of air conditioning, dehumidifiers, compressors, evaporators, safety pop-off valves, filters, Freon refrigeration units daily; repairs malfunctions and assists with complete overhauls as needed
Clean evaporators and condensers daily for correct operation of fans and glycol pumps
Install and replace motors, pumps, switches, safety controls, solenoids, and fuses at all refrigeration areas; repairs and replaces improper fittings and broken refrigeration pipes
Assist with setup and tear down of equipment and may assist with major repairs and/or construction required to plant buildings and stationary equipment, fabrication of parts, and installation of new plant equipment
Participate in and successfully complete management-assigned training directed at increasing job-related trade skills
May be required to participate in hazmat duties
Work in a safe manner with a sense of urgency while maintaining a safe and orderly work area
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Two- year degree in specialized maintenance trade preferred
3+ years of refrigeration experience preferred
Basic mechanical knowledge
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
Ability to read and interpret safety documents, maintenance instructions and procedural manuals
Abides by GMPs, OSHA and USDA regulations
Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines within specified time constraints
Must be able to lift up to 90 pounds
Possess EPA Certification - Universal
Forklift Certification
Aerial Lift Certification
Knowledge of HVAC systems
Electrical knowledge and ability to read diagrams of 480v 3phase to 24v
Proficient in brazing, soldering, and welding
Ability to follow Preventative Maintenance Programs and documented instructions
