NJ Employer Nursery Worker in Vineland, New Jersey

Anticipated period of employment: 03/01/2025 to 12/07/2025

Three-month experience in manually planting, cultivating, harvesting, and packing fruits, horticultural specialties, and field crops, greenhouse, and nursery work. Valid driver's license require to operate vehicles. Workers must be 18 years or older.

Manually plant, cultivate, (staking and tying) harvest vegetables, fruits, horticultural specialties, and field crops. Use hand tools, such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, and knives. Duties may include tilling soil and applying fertilizers; transplanting, weeding, thinning, or pruning crops; applying pesticides; or cleaning, grading, sorting, packing, and loading harvest products. May construct trellises, repair fences and existing farm buildings, or participate in irrigation activities. Packing house is part of the farm. Prune, take cuttings for propagation, load trucks, repair drip irrigation nursery and greenhouse work, transplanting, trimming, spacing, plant propagation, spray, irrigation work, weed, dig ditches, daily farm maintenance, clean production areas and facilities. Plant produce by hand placing into pre-dug holes along rows. Inform managers of crop progress. Set up and operate irrigation equipment. Remove stakes, string, and plastic. Dig ditches. Clean and maintain work areas. Operate, repair, clean and maintain farm equipment and vehicles. Machine harvest blueberries. Assist with Good Agricultural Practices policies. Workers are expected to posses the skill work in the production of crops listed. The introductory period for all work and to familiarize workers with job specifications and to demonstrate proper harvest methods and other crop specific issues. Workers must adhere to all safety rules as instructed by the supervisor. Workers must take care to handle tools, equipment, and produce in a manner to avoid injury or damage.
